wanna ask.....
u all cut ur GP nail with human used nail cutter???
or got other specific nail cutter for GP?
*
The one I'm using is for small dogs and animals. I tried human nail clipper but Micheri seems freaked by that shiny metal thing. blush.gif

smile.gif Also easier to see how much you're cutting using my clipper.

okok...gonna waste money again ady...lol

smile.gif 100% not waste money. It can be used for long periods. Not something you use then throw away. plus you can use for dogs and cats too. Very convenient to use. Easy for new pet handlers (in my opinion). That's one of the stuff i didn't regret buying.

haha...my only GP is a male..
sumtime feel he lonely when i go class or busy with assignment...
thinking of find a boy's frend for him.......
lol...tht time really invest more n more...
*
smile.gif It's a good idea to find him a friend if you can't spend a lot of time with him. Just make sure there's no female around lar. And you still gotta give him a little of your time everyday.

Pets are something that I will happily spend money for lar. wub.gif

I just clipped Micheri's nails just now. Today very good girl. I train her to sit still when I cut her nails, without any towel covering her. So far so good. sweat.gif But sometimes will shout a bit even though I haven't cut the nail. She must be imagining pain. thumbup.gif But thumbs up for her discipline today.

how to train....
can teach me ?hehe
*
smile.gif Get a small size litter tray. Put a few of his poo in the tray and clean everywhere else that he poo on. Try to get a litter tray that's different colour from the food bowl because I read that they can differentiate color. Reward him when he uses the tray. It only took me a couple of days to toilet train Micheri. So just have to clean the litter train daily. The rest of the cage remains clean.

When I see her peeing or poo at other places rather than the tray, i pick her up and put her in the tray and watch her so she does it there. Yours will get it in a while. just need patience.

GPs are rodents so they habitually pee and poo at a particular place wan. Easy to train.

So cute! So pretty lar! biggrin.gif I can see why you want him. What's his name?

I think when you want to touch him, move your hand slowly to him. GPs are rodents so they don't like sudden moves. He'll get used to you i n a while.

About holding him, are you holding him the right way?Maybe he's struggling because he feels a bit uncomfortable in the way you're holding him.

smile.gif Making sounds for you is a good sign. means he got used to living in your place dy.

And about toilet training, sometimes they will still accidentally poo outside cuz cant tahan to make it to the litter train. Don't beat him when it happens lor.

I feed my GPs hay in their bowl below their food. I feed them several times a day because they tend to eat more this way. They don't seem to touch it much when i put it specially in 1 area for their leisure.

oh okok..
i ady put matt on top of it..
then he only dare to stand up there.........
but still trainning him .....
need more time..
sumtime he pee poo outside the tray..
*
Just give it a lil patience. smile.gif GPs are quite intelligent so they're not hard to train. Don't beat him. In a while he'll get it. As I mention before, they're rodents. They habitually pee and poo in 1 area. If they get used to using the tray they won't pee or poo anywhere else if they can help it.

GPs can live with dog or not? I means can put them in same space? Like in the room..
*
It is advisable to keep your dog and GP under supervision when they are together. You won't know if your dog will treat you GP like every other rodent and bite it. smile.gif Highly depend on your dog. But there are such cases in which the dog was said to be totally tame to a rabbit and after months, the dog attacked the rabbit.

blush.gif Prevention is better than cure. In this case, I would say prevention is the only way since there is no cure for death.
