Yeah I notice that hedgehogs and GPs have similar looking feet. But I think GP feet is longer.

Micheri will yank her feet when I hold her feet. She know I want to trim her nails when I hold her feet. So I will position her nicely and tell her a firm "stay".

O, my Girl Girl lost so much fur everytime go to a vet. But she always recovered. Don't worry, yours will too. Just let them be one their own today and tomorrow. They'll be a bit scared of human hands for a while.

@jason: Ya, those for hamsters. We just need it for absorbing pee. I never used pelletted ones before. My Micheri is toilet trained so no need so ma fan get all those. Just clean toilet each day. Shavings change once in 2 weeks also fine.

You also can mar. They're very easy to toilet train. Intelligent animal mar.

It is possible. Don't give up. They are very intelligent. They'll learn wan. Maybe adults a lil slower lar.

I mentioned a few pages back that i don't use and don't reccomend anyone to use medication of any sort meant for dogs and cats. GPs are smaller and the risk to use on them and caused them to die is much much higher.

If you're worried about fleas and ticks and mites re-emerging, just keep your GP clean by cleaning the poo poo daily, the enclosure weekly, and your GP 3 weeks a time.

I don't use any spray at all. Once they're clean of their parasites, basically keeping the GP and the cage clean by washing is already sufficient.

It could be the place you buy them from, led them to have some pests transfer. Could be when you buy new GP, it had the pests (so little it's not really noticeable) and passed on to your other GPs.

Don't worry. once they're all clean, basic cleanliness will keep the parasites away.

This is why when we buy a new animal, whether GP or wat, we must quarantine for 2 weeks to look out for sickness and pests.

Well... Pests is not a condition. Plus it's external so should not be serious. Just wash the cage more k? The pests may be sticking there. Just keep enclosure and GP clean. When cure, clean once again to make sure you clean away all the pests hanging around.

Guys, I heard that the price for cages is going UP. VERY VERY SOON. So if you guys want cages or even plastic tanks, you guys better go buy it fast.

If want it easy, go get the complete set from jtl. Pet Shack got everything.

Get a playpen~ I'm using that now. I use it for when cleaning their cage, to bring them out let them jalan, and to sun them to dry after bathing. Very convenient to have one.

Like any true peruvian. For looking, wah... feel like want one. For cleaning and grooming... I feel so sakit kepala. XD

About toilet training, I don't use hay lar. Give 1 toilet, line with newspaper, then put some of their poo poo in there, After play for 25 minutes they sure wanna pee. Put in the litter box and make sure they pee in it. Repeat procedure and then wahla~ You have a toilet trained GP.

Other tips include buying a llitter pan that's a different color from their bowl and house and everyting else you don wan them t pee on. They will recognize that place and that color as the place to poo and pee. Yes, GP can see color.

For hardy creatures like our GPs, they have suprisingly delicate feet. That's why they easily get bumblefeet.

For me I don't use any wires or mats at all. Just line wif newspaper and take it out when I clean the toilet. I prefer the safe rather than sorry move. But people like mooz uses toilet mats and so far no problem. You are free to try that too.

Aiyah must persevere mah. It took me one week of dedication to pick up all the poop put in the tray and force Micheri pee in the toilet only she can le.
