i think to them is like, since P2 import not local produce, so if it not selling good, then P2 just import less or import depends on order. Perodua are not setting up any production line to produce locally, so no risk for them...

nop. they risk their own reputation and sales, coz not able to fight Proton new comers...
time for Pro2 fan to realize that Pro2 only import, rebadge and resell car not build them from scratch and everyone hate Proton soo much |

QUOTE(prozac @ May 10 2008, 10:31 AM) This is not even an SUV, more like a Kembara replacement. At such a high price? Ppl would rather buy a Triton/Hilux/Ranger/D-Max ler...much bigger and more powerful. Now with the green diesel engine, road tax is also affordable. Its a loop hole that dual-cabs/single-cab pick-ups escape tax... sales tax(10%) still apply thou... And only dual-cabs can use for non-commercial purpose.. Dual-cabs ... the only non-commercial vehicle (other than in Labuan and Langkawi)... that you are paying for what is worth... and a higher profit margin earn by the manufacturer. |

i read at motoring mags before someone from them told after test drive toyota rush they find engine 1.5 cc (same like avanza platform) its underpower for long distance journey especially if hiking at karak highway coz rush body heavy but if this p2 nautica more shorter than rush i think its more suitable but the price same like 1.6>2.0 cc cars or mpv lor...

Sometime June last 2007, I saw Daihatsu Terios (P2 nautica) and Sirion ( exactly look like P2 Myvi) were on displayed in one of the shopping complexes when i was in Jarkarta Indonesia. The selling price for Terios was under RM60K on the road and Sirion was selling at around RM40+K.
Malaysian have to pay extra RM30+K for Terios to the government to protect and babysit our 23 year old retarded baby ..... Proton. This retarded baby still produce low quality car like SAGA BLM as witness in this thread: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/643569 I don't know when will Proton can ever grown up, producing good quality cars and be independent without protection from BN government. As long as Proton can not compete in the free world market, we as rakyat of Malaysia will continue paying a price to buy non national cars in order to keep this retarded baby survive. |

Ask your P2 why they don't produce their own car but import over car and change to badge to P2? Ask your P2 is that grown up? Ask your P2 are they a national car? They would answer yes, ask your P2 again if they have national status, why P2 nautica is expensive? They will answer because we import the car as CBU, they didn't design the car, develop the car. Is that P1 fault? Ask P2 who is more grown up?A car maker that develop their own car, their own engine or a car maker that takes all cars from nippon and change the badge? Ask your P2 can they compete in free market? They will say no because they also need protection from government.. Grow up, dont blame others for your fault.. National Automotive Policy is to protect all carmakers, that includes P1, P2 (consider national?) and ridiculously Naza. Not P1 alone Added on May 10, 2008, 1:26 pm QUOTE(sani_2020 @ May 10 2008, 12:22 PM) with the current interest rate for perodua vs toyota they will buy nautica and change tha bagde to toyota as usual... i think rush will be a better buy. besides, why would anyone buy a toyota with a perodua badge on it? No competition, inflated price, lacks quality control (or not as stringent) as there is no alternatives. All of which burdens the consumersNot P1 alone |
