Cekap means competent.. You are good at driving la..
Thanks for the compliment, but it's actually nothing. I think the good FC is due to my golden right foot. Because it hardly makes the car went beyond 80km/h. Usually, I will cruise around 65~70km/h.

QUOTE(solsekuin44 @ Jan 31 2010, 10:38 AM)
thumbup.gif I agree completely!
Ahaha, love manual transmission too.. Thanks, I hope I can get my Kenari soon.. sweat.gif
Shifting gears makes me feel good. When guys shifting gears? Sangat hensem wink.gif

Ha ha, from the way you sound, you're female? To be honest, I find it quite rare to see female who like to drive manual car. The first I met is my sister, second is my Japanese friend and you're the third person so far. notworthy.gif Hope you will get your car soon. thumbup.gif

Wah.. Like that ah? The 1st gear consume more oil right? Hm, this is really embarrassing but I must ask.
Let say at a traffic light, I'm waiting behind another car. Can it be in 2nd gear? Or is it better if I change to 1st gear?
Well, if you've come to a complete stop, then u should switch to 1st gear. If your car still moving slowly, then keeping it at second gear is ok.

smile.gif Yup, am a female. Thank you.. I find it very interesting. We don't have manual car at home, only auto. To practice manual driving skill, I have to sewa a car laugh.gif Besides, it is wasting if you just forgotten what has been taught at driving school right?
I hope I can get mine asap.
*
True, my japanese friend said the same thing, she said she doesn't want to forget her manual driving skill (Great mind think alike? ha ha). By the way, you're getting a brand new one? What color ? Post some pics here of your ride when u got it ok ? thumbup.gif

p/s: One more thing, how come u're getting a kenari instead of a myvi.....I thought most girls like myvi ? blink.gif

I really hope Kenari is still on sale. Heard somebody saying that they are going to stop producing it? sad.gif
Yes, that's what I've been hearing since beginning of last year. That time I couldn't afford to buy it yet....I was a bit sad thinking that if it went out of production before I saved up enough money to buy it...then I will have to settle for a used one......because I like it so much that I want the one I'll be owning to be brand new ....Anyway, dream came true tongue.gif

QUOTE
Myvi? Hm, it's cute but I fell in love with Kenari. Everytime I saw one on the road, I'll keep saying - This is my future car.
Hm, maybe the red one? White also looks cool.
Will share pics once I got it!
*
You're really one of a kind...lol, you're also the 3rd girl I met who like kenari and not myvi. What do u like about it ar ? For me, it's the tail lamp, the RS/Aero version one. If it wasn't for the tail lamp, I think won't be attracted to kenari at all...lol..By the way, mine is the angel's color... rclxms.gif

p/s: Once you got your kenari, u can ask ericmaxman to add you to our car user list icon_idea.gif

Love the Kenari RS, pity no manual, only auto.

*
Ya kah? There was a time where I didn't like the RS (that's why I went for aero). But now, the more I see it, the more I'm ok with it. Even though common sense told me it's the same car, but somehow RS always give me the impression it's somehow bigger than other version...lol..any of you experience that or it's just me? But like u said, I wont go for it as well if I was given another chance since there's no manual... doh.gif

p/s: Anyway, eric, why dont u just mod your birdy to RS version then? You just have to change the front bumper, grill and head lamps right?

hmm.gif What do u mean by still waiting? Have you been to any outlet in your area and make the booking already? I think it's still on sale right, though there isn't much around anymore....? At least I still see some brand new one on the road recently (as in last month) in my area here in Sarawak... Atos? plain ugly to me....dislike both the headlight and tail lights... sweat.gif

Daihatsu Move. tongue.gif

QUOTE
What do you think of Kenari's gear and clutch?
Maintenance?
*
Clutch, so far after 10 months of driving never had any problem yet. But about gear, during the first few month I find it a bit hard to engage into 1st and reverse gear from time to time. My friend who's driving myvi told me this is the quite common among compact K-cars....and the trick he taught me was to engage into third gear first if I cant engage into 1st gear, as for Reverse, I will have to engage into 4th gear....Now, I dont have anymore problem with 1st gear but sometimes still experiencing problem engaging into reverse, but the occurrence frequency is getting less and less....

Maintenance should be reasonable since it's a local made car....just remember to do the every 5K km/3 months (which ever come first) service, your car should not give you much problems. You might have to fill the battery with battery water from time to time loh...And make sure tyre came with sufficient pressure for better FC......that's all I can think of...but I'm sure other kenari sifu here can provide you with more inputs... brows.gif

Eric, I was referring to a standstill when I was at the traffic light. But I did realized what u say is true....sometime before I came to a complete stop I'll try to engage into first gear but the car wont allow me to do so...so, this is an inbuilt feature?

Ya la.. Easy to get dirty right?
I don't know what's wrong with that car, white but very2 hot sweat.gif

What color is yours?
*
Yeah, both white or black is easy to spot the dirt. Especially after rain, so during these raining seasons, my car always get dirty....a bit lazy already washing it all the time....but yeah, I do agree white is a nice color...after all, mine is a white color one.... icon_rolleyes.gif

Gold color is good looking too, but aero version doesn't come with gold...only white, red and black. I know limited aero edition has silver and maroon...but they were long extinct already unless you're looking for a second hand one. rclxub.gif

ahchun,

but compared to 1.3 cars, the kenari being 1.0 must be fuel efficient i believe.

how is the aerosport or rs different from others?

*
FC wise, kenari is way better than 1.3 Iswara, even if it's Auto.

Aero and RS only different to other in term of cosmetic. Head lamp, fog lamp, side and back skirt and the long tail lamp(which is super cun). Engine wise, it's the same.

once again, thanks! i needed to hear that the kenari is really fuel efficient which it should be of course as a 1.0 and also judging from it's size. yes, i also like the height. i's like a small relaxing dining room inside the car.

how does the kenari perform when it comes to hill climbing - eg genting highlands or cameron? i: happy to also know that the different models have same engines and therefore not much different except the external cosmetics. this means i can go for the colour i like. sometimes, it can happen that the colour i like is an older model.
*
Dining room? Interesting perspective u hold I have to say.... hmm.gif ha ha

Climb hill? It's quite "susah" I have to say....Usually I'll accelerate to a higher speed to get more momentum before climbing the hill, and during the process I'll have to turn off the air-con (if it was already on) to gain more power. And I believe those hills I've been climbing, none of them are as steep as genting... ohmy.gif But then again, it's a 1.0cc car....

You're right. Just yesterday in fact. Haha.

Don't worry, it's a choice u won't regret. At least I don't. The more I drove her, the more I love her....especially the FC wise. So much I love my car, some time I can't sleep at night, I went to wash her...lol.

QUOTE(cphilip)
by the way, how is the kenari air cond? Some people say that it is not cold enough, is that true? if that is true, what is the best way to make it better?

Thanks!

congratulation silver. You are On the road to save lots of money by using less fuel.
QUOTE(solsekuin44 @ Feb 6 2010, 08:32 PM)
Ya, I wanna know too.. So jealous of you guys.
*
Don't worry, the Air-con is cold. But you have to take into consideration regarding kenari space in term of height, that's why it will take a bit more time to get the whole car to be cool down. By the way, solsekuin, if you're getting a brand new one I would suggest u dont have to change your rear absorber yet.....it's a waste since it's brand new....just drive till it wore out only then u change to a better one...
