i wonder what decision would seng_kiat make?
1. sell at loss (at 1.48 or lower) 2. sell at breakeven price (at 1.51, loss on commision) 3. sell at gain (provided it goes above 1.52) 4. take up the share |

QUOTE(aretla @ Apr 21 2008, 01:30 PM) erm... after some mathematic works.. It depends on individual risk appetide. There is no such thing of standard for it. it seems i have put in too much portion of my money into stock market... roughly 30% now... will it be too high in terms of financial allocation?? I don't 100% believe in most financial advice given one like if you are in mid-20, you can alloate up to 70% into stock while if you are 50, then it should be 20%. Hey, if I am 20 years old, but I am a conservative one, then putting 20% into stocks still fine,as it is my risk appetide. While even I am 50, I put 50% into stocks beause I am a risk taker and aware of the risk and consequences of it, that's fine too. Most importantly, you feel comfortable with it and sleep well every night. I had seen plenty of people have sleepless night even buying shares only, then it is not a right way to do. In the end of the day, as long as you know what you are doing and perfectly understand the risk and consequences when/if it goes wrong, then it is your money, you decide what to do with it. But remember to distinguish out the stocks. When I mentioned about stock I mean some good fundamental stock, not purely 'goreng' stock. Don't try to play long term with 'goreng' stock, most of the time won't work well. Just my 2 cents. |

hmmm dunno la but if wanna goreng, go for forex, futures, options, etc better in my opinion, less commision and very volatile, not boring at all. If shares, better go for long term investment.

QUOTE(sharesa @ Apr 21 2008, 03:49 PM) today SPsetia, KLCC property are leading the gain of all the property stocks. Told you, mood swing very fast one. Analysts has been saying that property stocks were bashed bad ly recently, blah...blah...blah....so up-lah, blah-blah. Today's news. (Oh.... if only I'm the writer & buy one day beforehand, grrr.....) One day analysts all said bad about finance stock in US, then after Citigroup reported 15 billions loss (more than most expected), then said this is the worst, and will become better. Haha, don't it just reported worst than you all estimated, now with sweet dream last night, mood change liao. Just prior before locally, all said properties sector and company will have hard time ahead especailly in opposition contolled state. Now said have good future just after 1 week? Sometimes, nothing to say then just put up a lame reason to support the claim. You can't leave the article space blank mah especially in newspaper one, very unprofessional sometimes. Even price qouting or dividend qoute also get it wrong. Don't mean to criticise the analysts comments, but it is the reality and sentiment can change quite fast one. But over the long term, sentiment is not the one determine how far a stock can go. Fundamental part is the one will lead a stock to higher or lower. Apple will announce 2nd quarter result on Wednesday night, analyst forecast to be 1.07, do u think apple-c1 will surge if actual record beat the forecast, just like what happened to google-c1 ? Apple currently price at 164+ , almost close to the Exercise Price, which is USD 171. If result is good, probably apple-c1 will be in-money.

Even if Apple share surges, does it enough to make the Apple-C1 moves? This is the key question. If a CW is massively 'out of money', unlesss the mothershare moves to a price that CW has potentially 'in money' situation, then the CW might not respond or just have little response. Look at Google-C1, even though Google mothershare surge 20% from 460 to 540, Google-C1 still way 'out of money' of its exercise price 680. So Google-C1 situation has not much change, still value 0. lol i kind of know that you are playing contra on this SAPCRES.
if you plan to take up the share, you wouldn't care about the 1 sen or 2 sen drop i thought you set a cut-loss point at 1.45 isn't? just stick with that then. This post has been edited by panasonic88: Apr 22 2008, 09:33 AM |

i just don't feel good if play contra but with limited cash, i'd rather not to play.
imagine everytime cutting lost before T+3, you tend to lose more than win, you see. like our senior here say, last time when there is T+7, one also can't fully guarantee that he can breakeven or make money after the 7 days. goreng also need to see time. when market is bullish, close one eye, cincai pick, tomolo also can sell, can make money. but definitely not to goreng as time like now. my USD$ 2 cent.... TM with fixed line and broadband business, it is hard to see breakthrough in the business as we knew fixed line is mature and potentially be challenged by HP and wireless product. TMinternational (cellular business) might be better than TM due to the prospect of HP and wireless internet. Buying today is mean you are speculate TM + TMinternational > current TM price, aka chalk up significant gain when they first listing. |

Do you mean that if I wan to play contra, I need to sell my share in T+3 and beyong that, the share will be forced to sell? Contra - mean you take advatange of T+3. As normally, buying share, you don't need to pay when you buy. You only pay after 3 days, so basically, in this T+3, you don't need to pay up a single cent. So even you have no money, you still can buy but you need to sell off when payment data come. So if T+3 time, share price goes up, sell price > buy price + commission + clearing fee + stamp duty, then you are gaining money without any capital.Ya that's what i mean. I'm waiting for my TP to sell. Appreciate your explanation. |

QUOTE(SKY 1809 @ Apr 22 2008, 02:54 PM) Since you had made some research on it. Curious to ask as I knew Huaan is making coke for steel processing fuel then how will rising coal price affect its cost?Coke need to made from coal, right? Coal has been rising quite drastically recently, that's one of the reason TNB share price tumble as well. |

Huaan,
A proxy into China's coke-steel industry. Sino Hua-An (Huaan) is the largest independent and third largest coke producer in Shandong commanding a market share o f 10%. Coke is an energy source as well as a reducing agent for the manufacture of steel. . High steel prices continue to support high coke prices and margins. Locking in electricity and transport requirements on a long term basis protect margins which at 20%-22% margin is better than its peers. . Aggressive capacity expansion. We expect continuing growth in China's steel sector to fuel coke demand. Huaan is constructing 2 more ovens by May 2008 to boost its current capacity to 1.5m MT in 2H 2008 and to 1.8m MT p.a by 2009. . Future downstream expansion into a 49% -stake Shandong's largest independent pig iron producer for RM500m provides stable off-take for its coke but current high coke prices and demand makes it more profitable to sell to third parties. . Rising coke prices. We are assuming coke price of RMB1,760/MT for Huaan vs. the curren t regional spot price of RMB2,00 0/MT. Our price assumption is at a conservative level given coke prices at certain regions of China have reached as high as RMB2,350/MT in April 2008. . Compelling valuation at 3.0x FY09. Fair value at RM0.96 based on 6.5x PER represents 20% discount to the steel industry's average 2008 PER of 8.0x - discount is warranted to account for the execution risk of its overseas operation. Note however, Huaan is trading at a substantial 83% discount to its Chinese peers. We expect with investors' increase familiarity and proven execution, the discount factor will be narrowed. BUY with a 60% upside from the current RM0.655 level. QUOTE(SKY 1809 @ Apr 22 2008, 03:03 PM) At first , i am also cofused, thinking coke means coke cola. Coke is not an agent to reduce cost of steel, but an essential raw material to produce steel from iron ore.It is about extracting carbon content and segregating iron and other oxidised components. Sorry, forget liao, need to flip back my metarlugical notes for futher details. It means to work well for Huann if steel price is firm, like crude oil palm. It is an Agent to reduce cost for steel production. If Huaan is able to pass the rising cost coal to the customers, then shouldn't much problem to register good earning result. SKY 1809, you may want to take a peek at investlah.com (got to know this forum from alivecmh)
the forumer "tikus" says, "Sino Hua-an is the largest producer of metallurgical coking coal in China, the price of metallurgical coking coal has risen for > than 240% above the last year level, the rise is even faster than the price of oil and gas. " "My baby Huaan closes at 75 sen, already up 4.2% today, take 70 to 80 sen as guide, it is 50:50 situation, not advisable for risk adverse investors However, if the price you take 85 sen as target, Huaan is still ok as a min of 3% dividend will be paid out" This post has been edited by panasonic88: Apr 22 2008, 03:15 PM |

QUOTE(dsugums @ Apr 22 2008, 05:16 PM) I sapu 100 lot sapcres at 1.56 1.70 can be a big hurdle to cross. There was double top formed during Dec 2003 & around April 2007. But after May 2007 once the resistance (1.70) being broken, it went straight up to as high as 2.60 before forming a downwards trend until today. From my point of view (not necessary correct), it needs to cross 1.70 to stage a upwards trend, otherwise it is not deemed a totally break through. Better take profit at abt 1.65-1.68. The consolidation period at 1.70 would be quite long. Might as well count the $$ now and wait for it to break the 1.70 ceiling. If Dow closes green, maybe will shoot up to 1.65 in opening tomorrow before profit taking comes in.But after May 2007 once the resistance (1.70) being broken, it went straight up to as high as 2.60 before forming a downwards trend until today. |

Might as well count the $$ now and wait for it to break the 1.70 ceiling. If Dow closes green, maybe will shoot up to 1.65 in opening tomorrow before profit taking comes in. One of the way to adopt some strategy is using profit locking mechanism. You set a profit lock at certain price let say 1.55 ot whatever you would like to have (for those already profit at this level). So as long as it doesn't fall below it, you hold, once it break, you sell. In between you see how it progress, so if it goes to higher let say 1.70, then bring up your profit lock level, (let say 1.60). Then in this way, you won't be scare profit running away while still can enjoy the show. But it is not a foolproof strategy, it can go wrong. I tend to use this kind of strategy from time to time, otherwise, make a lot of paper profit but once share fell afterwards, paper profit evaporate, and earn nothing finally. This is more applicable to 'goreng' stock as movement of price can be volatile in between. So, it is just for some illustration, don't mean it is a correct way to do. Judge you own. It is actually true to have those kind of feeling, that's why there are more excitement in 'goreng' stuff and people are more lure to it.but....i'm a bit worried bout my Genting la..hehehehe But a lot of time, it is those 'boring' one gain for you more than 'goreng' one. But excitement wise is the other way round. You feel more happy if you have made Rm500 in goreng stock for short period than a good fundamental stock that you hold for long term that had gain RM5k. |

QUOTE(cherroy @ Apr 22 2008, 05:37 PM) One of the way to adopt some strategy is using profit locking mechanism. I am using the method now. I might lose on broker fees, but, I am still making staggered profit. Did the same for Kencana; went in at 1.85, come out 1.90. Went in again at 1.93 (can't get the full matching though, price moved too fast and my internet slowed down here in Melbourne). Earlier made a mistake holding too long and loss a bit of $$. This way, I am happy making some money. Now I keep a very tight cut-loss regime; kena burn kow-kow a few weeks ago by waiting. |

About Sapcres... the same old feeling
When it drops to the bottom, investors start to curse. But when it moves to no body's teritory, then people start to fall in love. There were many people refused to sell the shares at RM 9.00 in those days. |

As for Kencana, it is already very high, gained 20 sen in a day. It might fall back to 1.95 tomorrow, my guess. If it can pass 2.00 tomorrow, it might hit 2.10. But I doubt will happen anytime soon due to the steep rise today; unless oil price shooting up again. You might wait and see. If there is a pullback and sustainable, then you can go in. Don't rush in tomorrow morning. |

QUOTE(cherroy @ Apr 22 2008, 05:20 PM) 1.70 can be a big hurdle to cross. There was double top formed during Dec 2003 & around April 2007. good of you to warn everybody beforehand, though the final decision will be in our own hands But after May 2007 once the resistance (1.70) being broken, it went straight up to as high as 2.60 before forming a downwards trend until today. From my point of view (not necessary correct), it needs to cross 1.70 to stage a upwards trend, otherwise it is not deemed a totally break through. Just my taught (don't flame me on this, if I am wrong, so many Sapcres supporters here) |

EVERGRN is forming an uptrend. RSI is just reaching 70% + bullish candlestick + the gap between the MACD line and signal line is increasing (MACD crossover signal line). It's very good buy signal there.
How do you think? If it can breakthrough 1.50, it might be able to its second resistance level at 1.64. This post has been edited by nofear0720: Apr 22 2008, 07:55 PM |

Still a question I keep wondering why Huaan want to list in Malaysia? considered that it is not a Malaysia based company nor having interest or business in Malaysia. Got some relationship with Antah? N.S. royal family owned.
Also, consider that it can list in China or HK which easily can chalk up higher price at IPO there. No doubt based on its financial result, it looks good. This post has been edited by cherroy: Apr 22 2008, 09:58 PM |

Huaan,
The increasing demand and constrained supply of steel are expected to drive coke prices . Existence of long-term contracts Huaan has sealed long -term electrical supply contract and long-term transport contract to ensure continuous and reliable power supply as well as strategic linkage to national railway system. Both the contracts entitle Huaan to enjoy 10% discount to price yielding cost savings from electricity consumption, coal transportation cost and cost savings to customers for coke transportation. . Gross margin well-protected Gross margin improved almost by 17% YoY and is well-protected between 20-22% which is higher compared to other coke players in China. The positive uptrend pricing of metallurgical coke coupled with economies of scale and savings in costs should help to guard the margin going forward. . Ability to command premium pricing Huaan is able to command premium pricing due to its higher quality coke which is mainly preferred by steel manufacturers. Besides that, the Group is also able to pass on additional cost to the steel makers who in turn, are willing to pass full cost burden to price given the high demand for steel. Outlook . Steel market remains strong World steel markets remain strong in general, led by buoyant activity in Asian markets. A recent survey conducted by Steel Business Briefing shows that 52% of steel traders have an optimistic view of steel market conditions. Crude steel production in China grew at 7.0% YoY to 40.9m tonnes in March 2008 implies that steel production is more or less solid in China. We believe the resilient China's economy, mammoth infrastructure projects, booming car industry and increase in production of white goods to underpin the rising demand for steel production which in turn, will spur strong coke demand. . Increase capacity to augment growth Shandong is expected to produce 14.9m MT of coke in 2010 (+19.2% from 12.5m MT in 2005) while its coke demand is anticipated to reach around 15.1m MT in 2010 which is in line with the increase in iron and steel market. The Group is adding 2 more ovens by May 2008 to boost current capacity from 1.2m MT to 1.8m MT p.a. Initially increase current capacity by 300,000 MT to 1.5m MT in 2H2008, the ovens are expected to go on full stream to 1.8m MT starting from FY09 p.a. . Coke prices to rise Coke prices have increased about 52% since 2H 2007 and can still rise further driven by the expanding demand for steel in China. The recent steel export tax revision from 15% to 25% undertaken by the Chinese government to curb export indicates the constraint of supply of steel in the country. We are assuming coke price of RMB1,760/mMT for Huaan vs. the current regional spot price of RMB2,000/MT. Our price assumption is at a conservative level given coke prices at certain regions of China have reached as high as RMB2,350/MT in April 2008. QUOTE(cherroy @ Apr 22 2008, 09:57 PM) Still a question I keep wondering why Huaan want to list in Malaysia? considered that it is not a Malaysia based company nor having interest or business in Malaysia. Got some relationship with Antah? N.S. royal family owned. that question also ran across my mind. Also, consider that it can list in China or HK which easily can chalk up higher price at IPO there. No doubt based on its financial result, it looks good. What I understand before was, Antah was loss-making for a long period. Then, when the restructuring was on-going, the royals were buying a lot that period. Maybe here less competitors compared to being listed in China? |

QUOTE(cherroy @ Apr 22 2008, 09:51 PM) Future price is not RM0.16. So, should I assumed that it only convert from low price to high but still maintain the total money that I've invest before(14.08x0.78 equivalent to 44*0.25)? In theories, I'm not losing anything right? And I need a suggestion, if you face the same thing, what will you do? Stay or sell? or there's something else to do? If the final share price of the stock before it carries out the proposal is RM0.25, it will become around RM0.78 on the first day listing. But your 44 lots become 14.08 lots only. But with the news of massive capital reduction come out, tomorrow its share price will under some pressure. Huaan's plants start to operate in mid 2004, but listed ( took over fr Antah ) in Mrach 2007.Also, consider that it can list in China or HK which easily can chalk up higher price at IPO there. No doubt based on its financial result, it looks good. I believe it is not easy to list directly in HK or China if their operations are less than 3 years. It is relatively unknown in Malaysia either ( not discovered by others yet ), and most people want to wait and see first, like the Sapcres case. Risks Change in political, economic and regulatory in China could materially and adversely affect Huaan's business operation. Notwithstanding, Huaan will continue to focus on its core business and evaluate new business opportunities that arise. The Group will also seek to minimize its business risks through inter-alia careful contractual terms, adopting prudent credit policy and regularly monitors its cash flow. Reliance on the steel industry in China. The largest market for Huaan's metallurgical coke is the steel industry in China. Growth in production of metallurgical coke augurs well with the China's economy because of potential strong steel demand which is used across various key industries. Any decline in th e demand for steel may affect the demand for Huaan's products. Nevertheless, China's economy is expected to grow resiliently at 8% annually. Competition. Huaan is operating in a competitive coking industry and its competitors include independent coke suppliers, coking plants set-up by steel manufacturers and coking plants set-up by coal mining companies. Huaan's strategy is to constantly meet and improve on fulfilling customers' needs and requirements. Additionally, Huaan is operating in close proximity to coal suppliers and major steel manufacturers, thus, yielding efficient stock availability and distribution channels which is an added advantage. Investment Case Coke production is highly reflected by future dynamism of the steel market. China's metallurgical coke industry is likely to correlate with the steel industry which bodes well with Huaan's business operation. The demand for steel in China is expe cted to continue to increase (Growth drivers: Rapid urbanization projects, Summer Olympic 2008, Shanghai Expo 2010 and the 3 Gorges Dam) and therefore, we expect Huaan's production to be easily absorbed by the market. The only listed company with operations entirely in China. Huaan's business operation is insulated from any deceleration of the economy or slowdown in the property and construction industry in Malaysia. On the other hand of Huaan's target market, China offers bigger and more promising market potential with stronger GDP growth momentum expected at an average rate 8.5% from 2006 to 2010 and 8% from 2011 to 2015. Earnings growth of 27% CAGR to be underpinned by a 50% increase in production capacity from 1.2m MT to 1.8m MT p.a by FY09. Further margin improvements can be expected as production efficiency improves with economies of scale and savings in cost. My type of investment method is different from yours. I do not look for heavy weight blue chips. Instead I look for cheap light weight chips with low PEs, but track records might not be good compared to your blue chips. Normally, if i buy , i prefer to buy 10,000 shares to make the real impact to justify my research. 1 or 2 lots would not be justified my time for it, I have a normal job to take care too. Just for sharing. Not asking anyone to buy. This post has been edited by SKY 1809: Apr 23 2008, 09:04 AM |

Quite surprised TM surged so much after de-merger too, I was uner the impression the better bet would be TMI and TM would more or less stay the same.

QUOTE(naz_b_85 @ Apr 23 2008, 10:26 AM) Yup, may be someone intentionally push it up so that they can gain some from it, especailly those substantial shareholders. You know, I know one who lah, just guessing, no concrete evidence Easy to push at first day listing mah, as people will have a 'wrong' perception (not wrong, I struggle to find a word to describe), due to previosuly TM was a Rm11.00, now Rm3.05 so aritificailly look cheap. Someone is putting a buy Q of 60,000 to 'support' it. Now become 70K vs few hundreds lot of seller. Need to put so much meh, if really want to buy? |

as cherroy said, next resistance for sapcres is 1.70 .. if it does breaks it, then it would be bullish . |

I bought one contract Sept 08 KLSE future at 1261.5. We'll see how it does later on when DJIA futures open.
Hope all of you make good money today! Happy trading, and remember STOP LOSS! This post has been edited by AdamG1981: Apr 23 2008, 12:32 PM |

Market probably going up the last few days maybe because the loud mouth Mahathir is not in the country to send jitters into the market
Once he comes back and opens his mouth, market will go sideways again Sapcres is still going up. Sharesa will eventually get her Louis Vuitton bag after all |
