QUOTE(stringfellow @ Aug 19 2008, 07:27 PM) You're cool in my books, fuiyo. You're ...you're FUIYO, for God sake! yeah kinda,I think those reviews on the AppStore itself is rather blunt and honest, if those folks dont like it, they immediately posted it there, with its pros and cons. For more info, you can head to Youtube, search for the apps there and watch the clip. i start reading their reviews and do searchings now =p --- anyone knows any to-do apps which notify you when they is any undone event? or like popping up a red badge just as apple did for unread msgs and phone calls? i would like to get one if there is any =) |

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Aug 15 2008, 12:57 AM) To the forum member hust_noon, your blog and the links to the pirated items have been forwarded to Apple for appropriate actions. Blatant acts of piracy like these is what hurts the growing Appstore community the most. You have been forewarned. No offense...Added on August 15, 2008, 7:52 pmI urge everyone to stay legit. And if you care to stay legit, and if you see a blatant act of piracy in action on the forum, report it in. Or if you're reluctant to tarnish your good name, pass the thread link to me, and I'll report it in, to the mods here and to Apple. You will stay anonymous and out from the possible anger of these pirates. Long story shot, help me keep the forum clean from these dirtbags. I don't believe that your house don't have any single pirate DVD/ PC CD before.... This is a progression bro, when the people in a country is still not reaching a certain civilization lvl or being a resident in developed country, they will buy pirate items, upon reaching the lvl, they will feel shame to buy pirated item. Hence, they will buy Original as what we seen in Europe and USA |

this happens only on O2 users,
i assume that they change the icon logo, apple will never implement the mms feature since its simply a redundant feature, i think most of the people wouldnt want a mms since they already have email and can gain access everywhere? but for us here, i think there will be a big difference =) aint mms cant be more than 1mb? do correct me if im wrong =) |

QUOTE(sjz @ Aug 19 2008, 10:11 PM) No offense... http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/appstore/my/terms.htmlI don't believe that your house don't have any single pirate DVD/ PC CD before.... This is a progression bro, when the people in a country is still not reaching a certain civilization lvl or being a resident in developed country, they will buy pirate items, upon reaching the lvl, they will feel shame to buy pirated item. Hence, they will buy Original as what we seen in Europe and USA Terms and condition of usage of AppStore, where those apps hust_noon conviniently linked to. Let me quote a section of that TOC:- QUOTE 4. LICENSE OF PRODUCTS. The software products made available through the Service (“Products”) are licensed, not sold, to you. Your license to each Product you obtain through the Service is subject to your acceptance of the Licensed Application End User License Agreement set forth below and you agree that the terms of this Licensed Application End User License Agreement will apply to each Product you license from the Service, unless the Product is covered by a valid end user license agreement entered into between you and the provider of the Product (the “Application Provider”). The licensor reserves all rights not expressly granted to you. You acknowledge that your license of each Product through the Service is a binding agreement between you and the Application Provider only, and that Application Provider is solely responsible for the Product, the content therein, any warranties to the extent such warranties have not been disclaimed, and any claims you or any third party may have relating to the Product or your use of the Product. You acknowledge that iTunes is solely acting as commissionaire for the Application Provider in providing the Product to you; is not a party to such license; and is not responsible for the Product, the content therein, or any warranties or claims you or any third party may have relating to the Product or your use of the Product. You acknowledge and agree that iTunes, and iTunes’ subsidiaries, are third party beneficiaries of the Licensed Application End User License Agreement or any other end-user license agreement for any licensed Product, and that, upon your acceptance of the terms and conditions of such license, iTunes will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce such license against you as a third party beneficiary thereof. The Service licenses Products to end user customers only. So stop with your piracy empathy and get with the program. You can cry foul with whatever excuses you wanna make with the price and all, but rules governed by the usage of these Apps does point towards hust_noon being an accomplice towards breaching this TOC. One small fact that you fail to realise is that these apps are not made by megaconglomerates, they are done by ahardworking lone programmer (in the case of the app 2Across) or two passionate enthusiasts (in the case of Foreflight), in which they are hoping to kickstart their life and budding application provider. Pirating their honest hardwork means you are killing these folks' hard work, and these folks are just like your next door neighbour, not your multibillion-dollar entities like EA. And if I am your neighbour and you are leeching off my hardwork by pirating my honest labour, I have no hesitation dragging you to the court of law and persecute you to the extent the law allows me too. Other people also have to eat. And speaking about eating and consumption, these apps are not necessary to be bought or used to make the iPhone function as it should be. They function only to enhance its usage, they are nice to have but not a must-have to make the iPhone work. What these leechers and pirates are doing is hording these apps to themselves and making it look like its their GOd-given right to have them, without concern or regard about people they have compromised, hurt or troubled. That, I would say, is the most selfish act one can do. Again, you DO NOT need to have these games, these utilities, these tools to make the the iPhone works as it should. These are addons that makes the iPhone function outside its intended usage. Just because no one around you are hurt when you pirate these things, does not mean that someone out there isnt. I believe that if I work hard on something, I deserve to be rewarded. And these budding app developers deserve their rewards, and not be leeched by pirates. If you are talking philosphy and the pirates excuse of leeching as " a mean of distributing wealth", you are sorely wrong. You are stopping rightful people from deserving their hard earned money after what they have done. There is a reason why Steve Jobs made available the USD100 mil fund available for these upstart entrepreneurs, and your act of piracy are destroying the effort even before it takes off the ground. Next time, read the disclaimers and the small letters and paragraphs that depict your rights to use, and know your rights as well. Your ignorance and blatant disregard of the law may well land you in a whole world of trouble. This post has been edited by stringfellow: Aug 20 2008, 12:40 AM |

The current To-Do apps don't do notification. In fact, they don't even have the 'counter' by the icon like what we used to get from Installer. Well, at least none that I've knew of have such a feature.or like popping up a red badge just as apple did for unread msgs and phone calls? i would like to get one if there is any =) |

Why not just do it in iCal and sync it into iPhone into Mobile Calendar? Notification will come out as a red circle and a popup on your iPhone screen, and you can edit overlapping, multiple and recurring reminders for them.

Well, what about Microsoft Outlook? It's been a while since I've touched a PC, but I think Outlook does have a calendar feature.

for pc, whenever you try to sync calendars,
it will always display a sentence in the info tab - " no supported calendar application can be found." nvm la, i dont think a student like me need any push notifications features. haha --- anyway, steve jobs just said that the app crashes issue will be fixed in the next software update in september. WOW. xp --- anyway, thx stringfellow =) --- personally dont like intelliscreen, as it lags and slows down your phone, as in when you reboot your device or when running other applications together. do correct me if the latest version no longer has this issue.
