syrian is a bigger breed, very tame but solitary.. only keep 1 syrian in a tank, not more than that.. as for campbells, they're not so tame, they do bite & u have to spend a lot of time with it so that it wont bite.. i would recommend a syrian for a beginner..

also, u dun have to rush to buy a hamster.. during this time, get to know more bout hamster & follow up our thread for new info.. then when u feel u can provide a good home for a hammie, that's the time to get 1

wat claypen? the mini playpen fence which joan's shop is selling 1 ar? syrian can climb over n come out 1 lor.
btw, u can buy those running ball n put ur jojo in then u can let him run in ur house dy lor.

ya i agree, hamsters too smart for us liao hahah.. very hard to control their smartness.. wish they'll just sit nicely in they playpen/tank & not try to escape..

Do research first before u getting a pet as it's better for the pet and urself on taking care of it.

Price for hamsters can be very varies. RM7-RM30 depends on the breed and place.

They will never stand steady even n your hand, no training for that. It's their nature to run around.

Playpen can't keep them from running out. My JackJack and SamSam escape from playpen with seconds. Can't use for Syrians, maybe can use for RC and WW.

Syrian also will bite if it's not tame. I would suggest you to get a half tame Syrian as a beginner cos u can handle it and play with it. Go and get from Pet Shack cos the Syrian there are all half tame, just need to spend some time to tame them, just like my JackJack.

Around RM100 and above depend what u get and where u get it cos all the accessories are expensive. Go to Pet Shack as they have promotion and give good stuff in the set and the price is very reasonable. Buy tank instead of those fancy cages. U can start reading and do research on hamsters while waiting to enter college and start the life of hamster owner. You'll be a better owner by doing this.
