that is a genetic disease, called flipping.. very common among Russian Campbell hamster.. i had one RC with this condition before.. this is absolutely not cute at all, becos it's a genetic disease n becos they cant control it.. avoid buying & breeding these hamsters, cos we dun wan more of this disease out there..

ya they look obese.. maybe they are.. sad, i witnessed my RC flipping n hitting her head on the tank floor everytime.. of cos it looked like some stunts they 'perform'.. but if we know that it is a genetic deformity, we wont be amazed anymore.

Like I said, it qon't be cute anymore. It'll immediately be transformed into sadness and pity.

BTW, I duno why but I notice that my robos are picky about their partners. With certain males they don't breed or breed very few times. With some, it's the opposite. So I have a kind of population control in my place. No idea why it happens. (Just for the record I don't do inbreeding).

by saying that do u mean the female reject breeding or it was infertile breeding? wat i know & read is tat robos are hard to breed, n they're choosy bout their partners.. dunno how true is this cos i've not experienced breeding robos yet..

I think it's female reject. They are hard to breed and are choosy of their partners, so I never had any overpopulation or inbreeding (I don house siblings together unless same sex). I notice most female robos don't like partners who are younger and smaller than themselves.

Robos are actually one of the hardest to breed. Not to say hard like they will fight or what lah. Is just that robos tend to breed if they are compatible for each other. If the female is not a breeding type, then it won't breed.

Crazymouse posted about breeding robos last night at 11:30pm. Guess this shows that you people don't read the threads properly and ask again? tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

One fact to add on. Obese wasnt came frm flipping. Flipping and obese totally diff. If flipping was so bad until the hamsters cant control themself, the result should be = hamster became more skinny, n not chubby.

Robo chance to breed with smaller size or younger than itself are less thn 50%i guess. Robos are similar to Rcs. What i witnessed frm Rc is that the female wouldnt get pregnant "SO FAST" if in the same tank with younger male. But situation inverse when i put in a older male. This experiment explain it all.

JUST TAKE THIS AS A REFERENCE. I DIDNT SAY 100% RIGHT.

It looks too small for a syrian if you measure with that cow house... I saw the cow house's actual size in pet shops and its more for dwarfs than syrians... Unless the mom is more than 4 weeks old only hmm.gif hmm.gif hmm.gif
