Expert confirm oredi PV80 better than PV70. You can check out his review at http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/Panasonic-TH42PX80/Conclusion

They call it PX80 there and the PV70 they call PX70. I think they are the same only that it's UK model.

OK, I've heard this comment once too many times by cynics....that mags like What Hi-Fi have their review ratings swayed by manufacturer's money. Then how do you explain the fact that I've seen an issue where Mission had an expensive full back page ad and in that very exact issue, that very exact speaker being advertised on the back cover got a 3 star review rating?

Yes, see with your own eye and listen with your own ears... but do not totally disregard reviews. Typically I use those reviews to shortlist those products I should be testing.

Can you really compare different products better than those magazines, when those products you're testing are in different dealers, in different rooms, and with different partnering equipment? Are you really confident enough to reject the results of a magazine group test in favour of your own, when their group test is being conducted by experienced reviewers in a controlled environment with all other things being held constant?

Back page ad more expensive than centerfold ad lah. Anyway, don't have such thing in What Hi-Fi lah. You think Playboy ah? doh.gif

You must be imagining the Mission speaker posing provocatively on the centerfold, with the grille open to expose all their bits.

Ceh, that fella seriously misguided if he thinks this is the place to get on his moral soapbox and find anybody to sympathise with his uptight views on silver screen T&A.

Hi all.

I've seen the Panasonic PV80 at Times Square LG floor "BEST", they are playing DVD with the PV80.
Damn, I should say. shocking.gif
It is great lagging quite obviously when the big gap picture moving... shocking.gif doh.gif
I think it might be the playback problem from the DVD source, but after I stay while for looking to examine, it really lagging on playback. shocking.gif

To be informed, the DVD source is Panasonic DVD, Panasonic logo screen will show up at the end.

Previously I'm so admire Panasonic PV80 when it is recently launched. And have read some good comments from those buyers too.

After I've seen this on real, I can't figure out why the DVD output be so lagging. shakehead.gif
And the colour intensity is not satisfied too, it's feel like lack of colour shading although it is quite rich in colours, but the colours is so flat.

Anyway, I haven't get the moment I see the HD playbacks on this Plasma yet, it is just one of the down side.
Correct me if I'm not right.

Hopefully there is not disappointment on PY800 that will launce on JULY.
I think PV80 is not came with 100Hz, right? rolleyes.gif

Anyway, this just my survey, cause I'm going to buy 1 of these HD for the coming few months. smile.gif

I'm the pioneer owner of PV80h. I don't have the lagging problem when I playback DVD or HD.
I am also using HT-465 panny home theatre player too.
