PQ elements are not confined to the black levels only I'm afraid, you'd also have to look at the contrast ratio, colour, video processing and motion handling among others..

Expert confirm oredi PV80 better than PV70. You can check out his review at http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/Panasonic-TH42PX80/Conclusion

They call it PX80 there and the PV70 they call PX70. I think they are the same only that it's UK model.

I'm the pioneer owner of PV80h. I don't have the lagging problem when I playback DVD or HD.
I am also using HT-465 panny home theatre player too.

May I know how much is the HT-465 home theater u mentioned?

great ....thanks Ferricide for the comments

currently i'm using composite cable, and my sofa is near to LCD TV .....the image look bad ....i can see the TV pixelated sad.gif

Added on May 20, 2008, 11:15 pmwe can just take out the composite cables and replace with component cable ? we do not need composite cable anymore ? the sound can be output right if using component ?

anyone know the price ?
*
The sound cannot output through component. You'll need another cable for that.

QUOTE(ferricide @ May 20 2008, 11:29 PM)
If you can get better quality Component then go for it. Last thing you want is the bottleneck between your Philips DVD player and your beautiful LCDTV.

The component cables are good for all devices. It just depends on whether your AV equipment has all the proper slots to take in those connectors.

Component has 6 connectors and Composite has only 3 connectors, so Cmpt will supercede Cmst.
*
Component has 6 connectors? I thought only 3 i.e. RGB (red, blue and green)

The lowest I have seen is around RM6400-6450, so RM6350 is very reasonable..

does it mean that this tv is not capable of receiving 1080p signal but instead upconvert signal to 1080p?

what 1125 that mean ?

I think it's not pv800 it's py800h as above. This set is full HD which means it can accept and display full 1080p resolution. I think all of the new panasonic range can accept 1080p.

pv70 or pv80 both ok for astro coz pixel count not as high as full hd so astro won't appear too pixelated..

got the pv80 last weekend. good price too. just a question to anyone who owns 1, whenever i play dvd via hdmi there are 2 black strips top and bottom. How/Can I get rid of it ? Some tv programs are full screen but some also hv the 2 black strips on top and bottom(ntv7).
TIA.
*
can get rid of the black strips by using the aspect button. Normally zoom 1 I think. The picture will be slightly taller. Best to use this for the 1st 200hrs usage or so to avoid burn in due to the black bars. These black bars area causes the phosphor to not burn evenly.
