Just get the GX as you will have lower commitment and also those extras can be added on yourself next time gradually if you have a tight budget. The ride and handling is the same.

QUOTE(jason1818 @ Mar 20 2012, 12:31 AM)
hi, all swift members here

My sister just bought a new swift, may i know whats the recommended tyre pressures for this car? according to the car manual, front 230, rear 210
, when full load front 230, rear 260, do you think we should follow?  now temporarily i advise my sister to go for front and rear all 210, not sure whether ok or not ? is it advisable to have front & rear different tyre pressure? normally i prefer all 4 tyres have same tyre pressure  blush.gif I also curious why some cars recommend all 4 tyres same pressure, but some cars recommend front & rear different, any reason ?? blink.gif
by the way, the swift tyres are 185/60/15

Front tyre need higher pressure as our car is front wheel drive where the grip is needed to control your car better. For better grip increase t0 around 32 psi while comfort can go around 28psi, applicable for 15 inch tyres.

SC who told you using your own engine oil will void warranty are only scaring customers, there is no such thing as long you can prove your oil is genuine, remember that owner's manual > SC words, owner's manual mention using grade w30 or w40 so just get those and you will be safe.

In fact, don't even patronize SC that charge extra or stop customer who brings their own engine oil. I go to JL99 opposite batu caves and they never question if you bring your own engine oil, my basic service has always been Rm79.90

Stuff like gearbox oil change, brakes servicing, alignment, aircond are all done outside.

Btw 4.5L engine oil will fill it up to the full line on the oil check level, not really a good practice to have engine oil level at the edge, best is in between. Just go back and check your engine oil level after leaving your engine on for 15 minutes(heat up), if above the line, bring back to SC ask them drain it out, screw them as loud as you can(if you want to) and find other SC smile.gif

before going for expensive mod,

remove the crankcase rubber hose that links towards the throttle body, place a rubber cap to seal that area(the metal piece on the throttle body) to avoid idling problem.

After that, either you love the environment and install an oil catch tank for the PCV hose or just screw the environment and leave the hose facing down the road.

You wont have to worry about dirty and clogged up throttle body anymore.

is the service kinda like RM1k to change oil something or RM 200 something2 .

cause my 1st car was Perodua kelisa . i expect RM 200 .. if RM 1k kinda expensive or else hmmzz .

I am very sure servicing Swift is cheaper than Myvi in a Authorized Service Centre fashion.

Why need to change spark plug every service and Radiator coolant every 20k is just none sense, more like day light robbery.

guys...wanna ask..swift price are more expensive than myvi or preve. if i want to buy a car,,which one do u think better?is swift really that good compared to preve?if im not mistaken,,preve have lot of accessories compared to swift..besides,,compared to myvi,,can choose xtreme or SE type with swift price..what is ur opinion?please share with ur experience..tq..

If you compare Preve with Swift then obviously Preve will be a much better buy than Swift, ignoring all the other problems some people faced with their Preve, sometimes its just a matter of luck, Swift is not entirely problem free either.

I would say most people's choice of going Swift is just because they don't want a P1 or P2 car, comparing Swift and Myvi, the only difference is Swift have better handling and nicer interior, performance wise Myvi can be better than Swift in some cases.
