Information for current utar student or those cosidering UTAR,

other than those MQS and proffesional bodies accreditation thing, there is some other problem you gonna face with after graduation, there is some letters to prove completion of studies/ transcript which UTAR cannot produce within 2 month even 3 month after final exam paper.

So the fact is gonna face problem if company want the official prove, if u ask utar they will just say ask the company to phone and check with the university, i wonder which company will do that. Another major problem is that graduates will havfe problem when trying to aaplying jobs in overseas, no letter means no visas and working passes/ permits.

believe me this is not bull shit.

im currently undergoing communications and networking .. just passed sem 1 ... now waiting for sem2
its not hard if u at least study a bit ...
sem1 i think nothing important gua , as our lecturer told us we will only focus on networking year 2 onwards

i enroll in the end of june thats mean i missed 7study week( dint get any local U , and yea im from stpm)
when i 1st got in .. its hell ... all lecture already cover at least half of what we gonna learn in the sem ..
i with my gang seldom self study 1 but we never skipped any class ( we only study a day before exam , even final also like that )
in the end ... total 6 of us , 4 get cpa 3.0 while another 2 get 3.5

Juz to let those that wanna choose to enter UTAR or those currently in utar and will be graduating know that there is such thing that the university is trying to hide such from the students. The other universities always hv alternative document to solve problem, but UTAR will not do anything unless there is LOTS of people compliant.

im sure utar has an alternative to that, since some of the utar grads i know managed to start work overseas a few weeks after their final exams.

is there FICT in kampar ? if not then probably my course gonna merge with FSET .. change faculty name .. LOL

no FICT in Kampar anymore. FICT and FES have merged = FSET. other campuses still got FICT and FES seperated.

What other alternative document you meant over there ? I am curious to know more about this.

I'm a UTAR graduate, juz took my final paper on september. no official document yet. quarell with all UTAR department a few time already. it alsmost cost me my job in singapore. luckly i hv my diploma with me.

u can try asking the office, normally the answer will be - ask the exam division, then exam division will tell u to ask ur faculty office, then in the end both juz simply tell u something, without letting u know the vry important notice of awarding degree and confirmation of graduation by senat.

Added on November 3, 2008, 12:09 amthey will issue an alternative letter other than those saying senat sign and u are awarded with ur degree, normally this letter take ages, and for transcript worst, office say u'll get it 2month after convo. utar juz cant giv a letter saying u completed study or u hv pass all result waiting for convo

I'm sure they are other alternative to other than waiting for those documents. That is because, I have a few seniors whom they got a job in Singapore and Australia upon graduation. Good luck dude

i'm working in singapore now too. used my diploma for application, thats the only thing the government accept. in australia may be they allowed temporary permits to be used for a period of time b4 getting the original 1. but i'm 100% sure that the officials over here in singapore will need to to get your permits b4 u can start work, it says so in the in-approval letter( a letter asking u to go to the ministry of man power to submit all relevant document which UTAR cannot issue).

im 100% sure that the graduates i met only graduated with degree and do not have diploma. they are able to start work in november right after their final exams in sept/oct, specifically in SG. i'll try to contact them to ask how did they do it. but i'll guess that utar provided them with a letter stating that they will be finishing their final exams and expected to grad on a certain date.

which faculty are you from?

FES Setapak campus, i fortunately got through the approval for my employment pass using my diploma. but my friend now having problems with the employment pass could you pls help me to as bout this as soon as possible, UTAR have cost us lots of trouble.

bro u should have documented ur problem in black and white. u can try write to the newspaper too and submit a complain to MoHE
