Anybody doing comm board replacement. Looking for something like RM500 including replacement board n installation n testing.

Still no hope for this phone to come alive.

Side story..

Yesterday got a person PM for coz of their problem. I reply and guide him to right direction and then he ask a few more questions. Plus offering some money to be transferred to my account if I can help. I referred him to iclarified tutorial with some tips/trick. Then I heard nothing, not even thank you. Guess the phone come alive back. Not even my customer.

Yesterday also, got 5 missed can in 15 minutes. Customer call with a problem. Teach him to restore and unlock. Then silent, not even thanks sms..

This is reality worlds we live in.

ok the person that aneip refer to is me. I had successfully restore my phone at 4am yesterday, after downloaded the firmware and unlocking it using iliberty. Was out the whole day yesterday and going to bed early last night. Just send pm to aneip and told him I am sorry if he thinks that I do not appreciate his help.

And infact, my offer to pay him for his help is still open.

I had the similar problem on my iPhone, after change password using passwd, the Springboard gaves an infinite loop, and when I wanna try to reboot it. The phone is stucked on the appl boot screen.

What I did is boot the iPhone in restore mode, connect it to itunes and let it do the restore. Then using Ziphone to unlock and jailbreak it.

To enter restore mode on iPhone,

1. Hold the sleep/standby button on top + Home button to force it to shutdown
2. Keep holding the Home button and release the sleep/standby after it shutdown
3. Press again the sleep/standby button to boot it and immediate release it when u saw the apple boot logo
4. At the point, u r require to still holding the home button, wait for around 10-15 secs, the iPhone will prompt u to connect it to itunes
5. u can now connect it to USB n open iTunes to do the restore and master reset

Hope this helps. smile.gif

That's restoring under DFU mode, try that in the 1st day get this phone. This mode should be allow you to restore even if you phone under corrupt file system. But this problem more severe I would said. Even under DFU mode, it unable to restore.

How sure are u its the commboard itself need to be replace? If the phone having problem charging and restoring then it would be the logic board. I've encounter a case where the logicboard is busted and can't restore thru itunes with error 1604.

Since u can boot using ibooter then its not the commboard problem. If not mistaken ... the invalid data calibration can be solve with ibooter or the dev team wifi-fix. I'm not too sure bout this. Need to google more on this.

That thing happen to u bcoz u tried to change the SSH password in 1.1.3/4 using the inferior BSD subsystem despite its being warned. Maybe u didn't read thru the warning when installing BSD. There's ways u can do to patch this up so u can change the password. I would recommend using cydia as this will install telesphoreo, a more advance and stable version of the BSD subsystem. With this u can change the password without locking up ur phone.

Yup ... read thru ipluspwns and they recommend using the wifi fix from dev team. U got nothing to loose right. If this fails then u need to replace the commboard after all. Good luck mate.

Wasted so many hour on this.. Will try again when got concrete solutions. The problem is, the Iphone will not boot. It stuck at white logo if I don't turn off the radio function using Ibooter.

All those people that able to fix using swifi never got problem to boot as far as I read.

Also try ieraser, sping, iunew all will stuck at some point. Must be because of radio off.

Right now will wait till winpwn out, hopefully it will patch some bootloader or bootrom to allow baseband reflash.

As far as my understanding, new comm board will means new S-gold thing which I believe will solve this problem.. Anyway, it up to my customer to choose what ever he want to do.

Added on April 14, 2008, 11:08 amoh, forgot. Swifi need BL to be FB which I unable to do coz bootneuter stuck at determine current setting.

New commboard will still use the S-GOLD2 chip. Same as other iphone. If bootneuter stuck at determine current setting then it might be a busted commboard after all.

Winpwn won't solve ur problem. Pwnage works with the s5l8900 chip while bootneuter handles the S-GOLD2 chip.

Hi,

I think I've a similar problem. Going back from 2.0.1 to 1.1.4 a few days ago. All the things worked fine since this morning. After receiving a short message, the iPhone hungs (applications opened and closed immidiately). After a reset the Phone bootes into recovery mode.

DFU Mode is ok, iTunes starts the restore, but after quiting DFU mode the white Apple appears and no spinning wheel comes out. After a few seconds the error code 1604/1603 appears.

I've testes several iTunes Versions and OS X / Vista / XP Systems. Like the thread startet - no chance to get the phone working :-(

When I start ibooterwin.exe the following appears:

I think the phone is missing some files in memory? Is there a way to get it working again? Is there a way to get a clean / fresh Image onto the iPhone?
