This is the reason why I dumped Maxis. The connection isn't stable at all. I am pretty unhappy with ZTE and Maxis as well. Both of them to be blamed

hey how about downloading stuff from rapidshare (premium user)
is it ok in term of the speed?

Added on June 18, 2008, 9:55 pmhey i called Maxis tonite asking about the USB Modem package
he said there's no such limitation like before
it's unlimited
but reading the posts here, i guess they cap until 20Gb
i think it's great compare to Celcom just 5 Gb
and they reduce ur speed from 3.6Mbps to 128kbps
how ridiculous is that?
i'm their new victim...
kinda think to grab Maxis now

They'll say unlimited. They'll give you cock and bull stories such as they don't block any services , Dynamic IP , blah blah blah blah blah. The speed is okay provided you are within the coverage area. They cap till 20GB , once you hit 20GB , they'll cap you to 256Kbps instead. But its possible for data burst to occur , but they'll just throttle you to 256kbps

hello, i'm considering of getting wireless broadband. since people here is using Maxis, can someone comment whether it is value for money? I travel a lot around malaysia for my work - Kelantan, Penang, Melaka, Ipoh, Taiping and of course KL. So, is Maxis' coverage good in remote area also?

I want to know maxis broadband stable enough to load lowyat.net, msn, mirc, normal surfing , email, ebanking? Does maxis give their WBB users dynamic external IP or internal IP? (this is important to me because I do use Mirc sometimes).

I tried out their mobile internet at RM99 /month and I have to say I had a very good experience with maxis. I don't use Bit torrent so I didn't have much problem with that. I was also given an unique external IP address and I have no problem logging on to MSN/Yahoo Messenger.

So , my question is, can this experience be replicated to their RM68/month wireless broadband service?

thanx for answering. (thinking of subscribing to the lower end service)

Now with MSN you might face some problems such as frequent disconnection. Yes , maxis does give their WBB users an External Dynamic IP Address (not an internal one). This allows you to use rapidshare , IRC and other stuff as IP is truly dynamic

Simple , if you are using a landline service from Maxis , then chances are you'll be able to register for their normal broadband

If you want to torrent or any other thing , you should switch to other broadband provider or subsribe to some VPN Service like I do such as Torrentflux or bolehtorrent or so. It enable you to use p2p and other 'restricted applications'. If you don't have a fixed line , chances are very slim. You must reside within a maxis fixed line area service (and not telekom)
