edge is faster or umts is faster?
i'm so frustrated
this few days i only can get edge connection
just called the useless customer service
and they gave me the stupid reason 'SERVICE ONHOLD-UPGRADE'
then i ask them how long you take to upgrade
answer= don't know
what? you can't even give me the asnwer how long you need to upgrade
as long as i know my place have been 'upgrading for a few months'

then i said no point paying the bils if i can't access the net smoothly..
i can't even load a single video in utube now

should i terminate maxis?
i wanted to switch to celcom
but what if celcom is bad as maxis too
i don't want to waste my money paying all the sh*t

Just want to know why I use the maxis modem got detected bo:stack virus on my mcafee but then I use the celcom no problem. Celcom I just use for testing purpose, 7 days return since already fix to maxis. So far celcom connection for my area good 3G, but the speed is flacturing. SOmtimes even get no zero donwload rate even is connected.
I hope maxis are really doing the "Upgrade" if not really cialak.

see ur speedtest......download speed fast also useless unless got high upload.......u must think 1st...when u click at website link or other thing....b4 it download to ur browser ...it will upload to the link server  1st.....so if the upload speed slow u get long time to open the web...same as ftp/http direct download....ur speedtest at america is the good 1....each speedtest result download if got 25 to 30 % upload speed from the download speed can said is very good.....  example 2mbit download with 500kbit upload ....maxis upload is really........

Yeah, I don't understand why the upload rate is so low. I see some of the speed test results with very very high download rate but the upload rate is surprising such a large difference. The ratio is simply too large. I think it will somehow affect overall performance. By right it should be around 300-400kbps for optimal balance.

only on 1st day the speed very laju mcm peluru, masuk 2nd day mcm sial!!! sampai la today....
call support services, they reset the line then ask me try back 1/2hour....but still same....

how to update  modem firmware???

erm last night after 12am the signal untill now is quite okei no disconnection happen and the speed i think acceptable for me because can watch youtube and can go imeem there with no lagging ...... oh i will try but now i out the modem near the window ....now sometimes got 3G sometimes just got GPRS but surfing is stable .....

and 1 more thing is what is the mean of ping at speedtest.net ?

Correction: Don't get Maxis BB if you're a heavy gamer/torrenter/downloader like this guy here.

Maxis BB is meant for fast surfing and e-mailing and you-know-what. Not meant for you to use and download all your pr0n. If you still wanna download go get Steamyx lah.

yeah i know maxis bb just for bussiness,not for youtube/games/torrent and i never a heavy downloader and not download porn.i one of the first customers got this broadband when it launch and because it promise have the fastest wireless broadband to date and also at that times only maxis bb have wireless services.But now they are rank lowest than any other wireless isp because they only have 3gb limit cap,even celcom have 5gb and now digi explore got 10gb limit.I dont mind have to play more just to get the good connection and speed,now just have to wait for p1 or digi broadband have coverage at my place.

can i use  usb modem also?is it good for play on9 games or at least better than maxis bb?

erm ....?what is the different about the unlimited and the 5gb usage ? sorry yea i know u already explain it but me still confusing .... if me havent reach end of the month my usage is over then 5gb then how ? what will the maxis do ?

What is this? Care to elaborate? So far I've never heard of an unlimited broadband plan from Maxis, except their wired BB...
Well, if you ask me 3GB is too little for me too, but I guess to maintain this good speed it's worth sacrificing downloading less for. Sometimes you never know, the extra 1kBps will help you.

Also, what for if the speed slow, connection shaky and nothing goes right? Personally I've never heard any complaints about Celcom, guess it's good, but the modem itself is a bomb, complain also no use alr, because you've already bought it. Digi Explore? Heard of it, never went into detail before so not entirely sure.
If you finish your 3GB cap before the month ends, your speed will be throttled (mine got throttled to 20kBps< DL) until the next payment month.

Unlimited, you can download until your HDD is overloaded.

Ooh. Ok, haha. This's for phone only though IINM... while its unlimited the speed won't be good, i guess.
