I think you should double check with this, because i called maxis they told that if terminate not more than 12 months, need to pay for RM200 handling fees.
*
following your earlier post, i called twice to the customer service and i was again confirmed there is no RM200 handling fees. Also, refer to post 2530, numbertwo who already signed up for the service confirmed this as well.

QUOTE(numbertwo @ Dec 11 2009, 02:00 PM)

Confirmed, there is no cancellation or termination fees of RM200..  In the printed contract after I signed up the package I can see the penalty fees of RM200 should I discontinue the service , but this is only applicable to packages running on 'contractual' basis.  And this clause has been crossed out in my contract form..

So, no worry guys, go ahead and njoy the 2 mths free surfing on-the-go!

thnx for the indepth summary....very helpful indeed...

just to add...if one's from te 3 group...aka the 4 months free group...the 1st 4 months are considered trail period, when even if one wanted to terminate say after 3 months due to dissatisfaction...the rm180 paid upfront will be rebated gradually via the existing postpaid mobile account...

thats what the lady said when she rang me for the offer...

Really can still get the rebate from your postpaid account?

That's great news. I want to get the RM180 modem for free but don't want to use the maxis broadband.
I will check back and see then. Hopefully it's true. tongue.gif

AFAIK Maxis is never that generous to their customers. But if it's true that the modem will eventually be rebated back to us in postpaid account, I will sign up for it.

AskarPerang can go confirm at maxis centre? keep us updated. another 2 more weeks to go before offer ends.

BTW, i read that the maxis modem is sim-locked. I understand that there are people here that can unlock it for RM30 fee....

from what i observe ...

u all too obsess with M and C VOICE line Serv ... u all need to Understand this u are using thier DATA Network. Yes M and C is famous for it Voice line serv ... but come to Wireless Broadband thing ... too Famous is not a good thing means in future maybe within one year TOO MUCH user ... then u bad dream happen ... Wireless Broadband is sharing basis ... so means as the number of user growth and the telco do nothing to upgrade then u all STUCK can connect but transmit and receive DATA at super LOW Speed ...

i here not bias or related to any of the Telco ... this is my personal Experience ...

u all should look for alternative like Digi Broadband
YES we know 3G coverage is limited for DIGI but the EDGE network is far more stable then any operator in Malaysia i assure u
i personally Stream Online Radio on EDGE for 3 days non stop ... NO DISCCONECTION AT ALL ... ( Bentong Pahang)
wat i observe is DIGI is Far less user for both voice line not need to said DTA line loohhh...
i not need to "share off" my speed at least with others user ...

Just back from menara maxis KLCC.
The answer is nope. Once you terminate the maxis bb contract, the rebate will also stop.
I didn't ask whether the modem is sim lock or not.
The rebate is to your maxis postpaid account so I guess you can still use up the free 2 months to get RM60 back for the RM180 modem.

I do agreed that over selling bandwidth is a major problem we face with our ISP in Malaysia. But however, it has nothing to do with subscriber amount, it is more of a business ethic. Why don't NTT in japan faces similar problem when they have subscriber base far larger than any ISP in Malaysia? If you have large enough bandwidth backbone as support, subscriber amount will never be a problem.

On the other hand, if you do not have a steady subscriber base, it is only a matter of time before you collapse. Look at promises made by izzi and U-mobile the day they were launched, and how they are today, i bet they even have lesser subscriber than Digi does.

lastly, please go and learn proper English before you decide to stamp your fanboy sign on other thread.

nope, maxis will cap your speed to 64kbps but according one of the CS, the capping will only kick in if you use it excessively.

One thing sucks at Maxis is they don't give you a summary on the billing for the total usage capping, it's not same in our system counter.

looking at the bright side, if they documenting everything accordingly, then capping after the limit will become a necessity.

on the other hand, without proper documenting, they might handle the capping based on network capacity and implement the capping leniently
