I saw that volume quota is 3GB (RM108), 6GB (RM138), 12GB (RM198). Why another plan can let us choose is RM99 with unlimited data access of volume quota? 6GB & 12GB are quite expensive compare to the RM99 unlimited access. Why Maxis got such wired package with abnormal price?

Added on September 22, 2009, 11:20 amI didn't subscribe for the maxis broadband package, i chosen pay per click. I only surf MSN & Google Maps, how come 1 month usage is 39MB and cost me RM390?

RM 99 unlimited access is different than maxis wireless broadband..
as I know, RM 99 unlimited access is for maxis postpaid mobile user..
meaning u're using that phone number for surf by using mobile..
when u using pay per click, it charge 1sen=1Kb
you are using 39mb=3900kb=RM39
u should check back with CS
correct me If I'm wrong

Added on September 22, 2009, 11:44 am

see my 1st signature for maxis WIRED bb..
but maxis wired bb not every area has it..
btw, u will get a consistant speed when torrenting or direct download
*
I knew that 1sen=1kb but i don't know why only surf MSN & Google Maps can use a lot until 39mb.

Got show sign either "3.5G" or "H"? If no, then your speed will be slow and your area not coverage by HSDPA.

I think the speed problem doesn't related to your device. So if the line is stable & good depends on your area, then every devices is provided the same quality.

I called Maxis yesterday, the operator told me the package i subscribed is Mobile Internet, not the Maxis Broadband. He told me Mobile Internet speed up to 384K only and Maxis Broadband can up to 3.6Mbps.

So as a Mobile Internet package, I go to speedtest it and get 1100Kbps, thought maximum is up to 384Kbps. I even found that when i loading Youtube video on my HTC mobile phone, the speed is faster than my home Streamyx 1Mbps.

What is different between Maxis Device package & Bundled package? I saw the device package with 1.5GB quota RM58 but saw the bundled package with 2GB quota only RM48, why this one cheaper?

Added on December 9, 2009, 3:20 pmAnyone here can get the maxis broadband sim card settings for the HTC Touch HD phone? Because i want to use mobile phone online too.

hi there, wan to know about HSDA package...
I visited Maxis website and realised that there is RM48 bundled package for 2gb. What's the speed of it?
How long do I have to bind with maxis if i sign the following package?
*
The website given wrong info, actually is 1.5GB, speed claimed up to 7.2mbps depends on area. You need to pay for RM180 upfront fees then rebate for you RM30 monthly in 6 months time. If you discontinue the service not more than 1 year, then you need to pay for RM200 handling fees.

For the RM48 package, if you got the sms from maxis about free 4 months broadband, then you only need to pay RM38/month and enjoy the 1st free 4 months.

all i can tell you the maxis CS are a bunch of 'untrained' staff... One told me w/o contractual term, another one telling me contract is 1 year and cancellation is RM200...  mad.gif    So, who's right and who's wrong. cialak

Added on December 10, 2009, 1:39 pm
I just made a call to a Maxis MEP outlet... the lady confirms no contractual period, no cancellation fees if you decide to cancel the subscription after 2-mth free period.. only thing is you paid RM180 for the modem which you no longer enjoy the rebate if you cancel it within 6 months...

ok mar?? no?
*
The one i told you need to pay RM200 handling fees within a year if you wish to cancel the plan is true, when you subscribe for the plan, they got ask you to sign a form which mean that you accept all the terms & condition. About this RM200 handling fees i read from the terms & condition as you said maxis staff untrained maybe this time you ask they given wrong info to you again, please read the terms & condition first.

i've been very tempted by the maxis year end promotion lately. Then being their OneClub member, they sent me another promotion:

FOC E1762 HSPA modem
Free 4 months WBB
RM38 on 5th months onward (1.5GB quota)
RM58 on 5th months onward (3GB quota)
No contract

Prepayment RM180, will be refunded into my maxis phone bill from 1st month onward.

Basically if i cancel after 6 months at which the RM180 is fully refunded, i get everything for free, plus paying RM16 for the 5th and 6th month usage. Ok, i'm sold.
*
But if you terminate the package after 6 months, although maxis rebate RM180 to you already but you still have to pay another RM200 handling fees because your termination not more than a year.

i have called and asked and double confirmed.
i can terminate right after i subscribe and gotten the modem and no charges will be imposed on me (other than the RM180 reimbursement will be burnt)

but anyway, maxis CS always has inconsistent answer. i'll confirm this at maxis centre when i subscribe later next week.
*
Hey, i also called 1800822000 ask the same question, she told me not more than 1 year if terminate then need to pay RM200 handling fees, so which is the correct answer?

For normal maxis postpaid user, the offer is this:

FREE E1762 modem (pay RM180 first and they rebate you RM30 in the next 6 months)
FREE only 2 months of Maxis BB
No contract

RM48 on 5th months onward (1.5GB quota)
RM68 on 5th months onward (3GB quota)

If I got that OneClub member deal, I would have take it right away and used it for 6 months.

I thought the handling fees is waived as shown here:
user posted image

but probably maxis got some tricks up on their sleeve. not possible they are offering something so cheap.
The modem itself cost RM300 if you buy at outside!!!  tongue.gif
*
I think just a trick for the advertisment, because the terms & condition there written differently, RM200 handling fees waived doesn't tell properly the period. I think better follow the terms & condition that with your signature.

Q: What if i terminate early, any charges?
A: if you terminate before the RM180 of modem cost is fully reimbursed, the reimbursement will be burnt. Besides that, no additional cost.
I think you should double check with this, because i called maxis they told that if terminate not more than 12 months, need to pay for RM200 handling fees.
