The website given wrong info, actually is 1.5GB, speed claimed up to 7.2mbps depends on area. You need to pay for RM180 upfront fees then rebate for you RM30 monthly in 6 months time. If you discontinue the service not more than 1 year, then you need to pay for RM200 handling fees.

For the RM48 package, if you got the sms from maxis about free 4 months broadband, then you only need to pay RM38/month and enjoy the 1st free 4 months.

all i can tell you the maxis CS are a bunch of 'untrained' staff... One told me w/o contractual term, another one telling me contract is 1 year and cancellation is RM200... mad.gif So, who's right and who's wrong. cialak

I just made a call to a Maxis MEP outlet... the lady confirms no contractual period, no cancellation fees if you decide to cancel the subscription after 2-mth free period.. only thing is you paid RM180 for the modem which you no longer enjoy the rebate if you cancel it within 6 months...

ok mar?? no?

Hey, i also called 1800822000 ask the same question, she told me not more than 1 year if terminate then need to pay RM200 handling fees, so which is the correct answer?

I think just a trick for the advertisment, because the terms & condition there written differently, RM200 handling fees waived doesn't tell properly the period. I think better follow the terms & condition that with your signature.

Yes, I agree, LOOK READ SCAN STARE CAREFULLY at the T&C in the paper that you sign. In you see any sort of such wordings ie. "cancellation fees; early termination fees", time to ask for confirmation. I'm not their OneClub member so I guess i hv to try their 2-month free package!

Added on December 11, 2009, 4:31 pmConfirmed, there is no cancellation or termination fees of RM200.. In the printed contract after I signed up the package I can see the penalty fees of RM200 should I discontinue the service , but this is only applicable to packages running on 'contractual' basis. And this clause has been crossed out in my contract form..

So, no worry guys, go ahead and njoy the 2 mths free surfing on-the-go!

Just back from menara maxis KLCC.
The answer is nope. Once you terminate the maxis bb contract, the rebate will also stop.
I didn't ask whether the modem is sim lock or not.
The rebate is to your maxis postpaid account so I guess you can still use up the free 2 months to get RM60 back for the RM180 modem.

I you believe what the customer service chap told me at Tmn tun outlet, this modem is UNLOCKED. I will bring it over to our neighbor country in the upcoming x'mas holidays, I will tell you guys whether it is true or false.. smile.gif
