The last time another person told me about his "networking skills", i told him that just becoz he is using TCPOptimizer (with guides available on the net) or using TCP half-open settings, it doesnt really means it is a skill.
and neither is disconnecting/reconnecting the modem makes up for anything that can be called "skill". so whatever you did to avoid capping, i dont know since you are not telling. but thats fine anyway, its yr right. But pls, dont misuse the term "networking skill". Ppl with rightfully certified CISCO certs would definately be glad to explain to you what is "networking skills". and no, i dont hv any "networking skills". thats y i searched the net and forums asking for advice. am just a regular customer trying to get his fair access to a paid service. |

I have to agree with xpresside on this, good thing doesnt last forever.
I had a good time too, for the 1st two months. now i am just looking for answers and help. and nope, seeing ppl shove their bragging rights isnt making me feel any better at all compared to the "recorded" response of the Maxis cs's. |

QUOTE(mochachoke @ Jun 13 2009, 04:55 PM) lol..... To tell you the truth, that's why Maxis is doing so poor. Such huge investment in marketing but little in improving the network. Maxis is actually the top selling WBB in Malaysia, guys. But probably the most problematic. Sigh. I feel sad that there's such a company that only cares about getting money but not giving the service that makes it deserve the profit.QUOTE(ibnuasad @ Jun 13 2009, 07:18 PM) At first glance, I thought you were talking about the *other* WBB...lol What side would that be? |

Looks like maxis terminated their ZTE modem wireless series and came out with "sim card only wireless service". RM78 a month with RM10 rebate x 12 months. No contract, can terminate anytime, no penalty. Speed 2mbps, cap 2 Gig data. Has anyone tried this out yet? I thought celcom is making maxis running for its money! What side would that be? I have heard that Celcom is slowly penetrating the broadband market. QUOTE(vista enthusiasist @ Jun 14 2009, 03:40 AM) I actually just added this to my postpaid. Currently go online, connecting using my mobile phone - SE C905, via USB.the results surprised me! more stable+reliable than P1 and IZZI, despite I have poor reception for making phone calls (ocassionally SMS), bcos I stay above 10 floor. Have been playing WoW ever since... ping fluctuate between 200ms - 2Kms (no kidding)... but no lag or slowness... weird! ![]() note: somehow speedtest figures doesn't really reflect my actual experience accurately... hey guys,
I'm thinking of getting the maxis' WBB. However, yesterday when I use my blackberry as a modem and test the speed, I got around 257kbps. My question is: Will the speed be different if i officially subscribe to the broadband service and buy the modem from maxis? Secondly, what do u guys think about the wifi modem? Is it recommended to buy the modem from maxis if I want to share the broadband with other members of my family? thanks |

QUOTE(nikyas @ Jun 15 2009, 08:45 AM) hey guys, Dont take my word for it. We are a "small" number of capped Maxis users. Being that "small" number, the speed, the wi-fi modem or watteva there is, it has became our last concern and "happiness". Because we are pleased to share with you our Maxis fastest limiting broadband service, which promise you blazing speed so you can fill up the 3Gb quota in the fastest period ever. And when you reached the quota, they will explain to you the need of fairness. So with Maxis, you not only get a broadband, you will also learn about patiance and the spirit of fair and satisfaction. I heard stories about maxis, seems everyone is still unhappy. The reason I want to use maxis is because maxis and celcom is the only wireless broadband that are available in my area.
I've already given up on streamyx. The unstable connection is too much for me. I need stable and consistent connection! |

Consistent, also yes. Because they are always consistently inconsistent in capping. Now they cap you, and then they don't. you'll never know~ and this pattern is so consistent that I am already used to it. one fine day you can download a mov trailer off Apple Movie with 90kbps or more, the rest of the weeks you will have to endure 7kbps until the next month. Ha ha ha... GG.I've already given up on streamyx. The unstable connection is too much for me. I need stable and consistent connection! |
