I can't get my MMS to work. I am Celcom user. Followed the setting aboved but still failed.

I am using 1.1.4 and 0.3.6 Swirly MMS.

Anyone can help me on this??

Set you image size to smallest. Then slowly try higher quality.

Tried but still failed. The msg come out:

Could not fetch MMS. Check your settings!

and if u keep on hving failure to send..keep on sending it..

For those who still fail to send mms.. dont give up. Actually i also having problem before on sending a mms via SwirlyMMS.

But, after few weeks, just now i am succesfully sending my first mms from my iphone.

This is the trick (is it a trick?), i am maxis user and i never upgrade my simcard to have a 3g function. Fyi, I am using SwirlyMMS 0.3.8.

just to share something with you guys.

for maxis users, if your 3g service is active (applicable to most contract users and a very handful hotlink users), opt for unet.

on the other hand, if its inactive, use net instead.

to check on your status, its easy. just ring up the maxis operator.

out-of-the-box hotlink sim cards can only support up to 2.5G (edge) whilst the new (or those who updated their sim card recently) will have the latest 3g sim cards.

on the other hand, these descriptions can be quite useless at times i have to say. i have tried numerous times with different sets of combination for example mexis, x y x y, la la la or leaving them blank, but somehow miraculously i can still surf the net via gprs or edge. bosspref is still the best 3rd app available right now.

of course hsdpa, 3g, edge, gprs and wap are merely indications and doesnt necessarily guarantee the advertised speeds. they depend a lot on the network (of course) and the signal strength. hence your mobile phone might be showing a '3g' icon but you can end up with a speed worse than a gprs connection. this can also be used to explain why digi's edge is far more superior than maxis'.

unfortunately, maxis dun have unlimited edge plan, but by the way, if applying for 3g unlimited, it will use edge also right, maybe can make it unlimited.?

well, even if your phone is non-3g, its best to use 3g setting instead of the WAP setting. i am not sure why, but last time i try set using WAP setting on a non-3g phone, and cannot connect but when use 3g setting.. it can surf the web.

my maxis simcard already 3g, and im happy for it..

doesnt matter, the unlimited plan here simply mean unlimited data usage irrespective of the connection type.

i will quote an example to support my claim. lets say you are currently using a hsdpa phone with the maxis unlimited plan data and you are using 3g/hsdpa just fine around the major city area and suddenly you end up at a kampung area where the fastest speed that they can support is merely gprs.furthermore, there is no difference to the price that you are being charged since most telco providers charge per mb of data anyway.

but for digi yes, even with a hsdpa phone, the highest speed that you can get is edge. that probably explains why digi's unlimited data plan is way cheaper than its close rivals.

i once filed a complain to maxis for unlimited data package (i sengaja wan) bcoz it keeps on using gprs instead of 3g. then the maxis people called me up and clarify the situation above.

if i am not mistaken there 2 type of connection plans, one for hsdpa(1.8mbps) and on is for 3g(384kbps)...

well i just checked the maxis website; there is one type of unlimited data plan regardless of the connection type; rm99 (exclusive tax) per month.


i believe the so-called split connection types that you have mentioned, is only being offered by celcom (not maxis)

nop.. just call 123 and input the key to maxis internet broadband, talk to the girl/guy that you need unlimited package. but when is it activated, i am not sure becoz for me, my package activated the next very month, which i paid whooping RM80 for data downloading previously~

yes, you are right. thats because maxis like most telco providers charge their customers via the pro rota method.

but for hotlink user they cannot activate the unlimited 3g/gprs usage RM99...u most have postpaid

ironically, hotlink is maxis' most profitable division.

proxy / gateway ip : 10.128.1.242 / 010.128.001.242 (both works fine but some hp forced you to insert 3numbers each column)
username : (leave it blank)
password : (leave it blank)
MMS server / MMSC : http://mms.celcom.net.my

Homepage / MMSC : http://3g.celcom.com.my (3G sim card) (For wap, homepage is not important)

For Motorola and some phone models, http:// is a must in order to have mms function works!
For Motorola, service type is WAP (for prepaid/postpaid normal sim) HTTP (for prepaid/postpaid 3G sim; test done, if you unable to use wap/mms, try add "http://" and switch service type from wap to http or the opposite way)

Anyways, yes you can get MMS for your iPhone but it requires jailbreaking and installing a third party application which you will have to pay for after a free trial session.

2. Once you've jailbroken, you can search for the "SwirlyMMS" application on Cydia from your iPhone.

1) open it and wait for a while. (2-3 minutes)

2)On ur EDGE, and surf using EDGE for a while. might work

3) off edge, on ur wifi, then on swirly, click GET LICENSE, then off swirly, off wifi, on edge, on swirly. 'M' magically turn green and green since then.

Note: make sure ur APN is using (NET - MAXIS - WAP)

Do you see the blue "E" next to your maxis logo when you turn edge on? Mine doesnt show up. I called Maxis yesterday and they claimed coz my line had 3G activated so cannot use edge. So i disabled it and got an sms today that my GPRS is now on but still no luck.

I'm using NET, my apn settings are there and i have data roaming on. grr wanna give up adi.. not meant to use MMS

aihhh now phone hang when i try to turn off edge using SBsettings. SIEN!!
