he told me he would ask the credit dept to raise the credit limit yesterday and only for yesterday,
but i lost interest and said i would close my account when i have the time.

jonat003: i'm trading in kepong area.

any1 can recommend a better broker that is not OSK?

not necessary. tomorrow opening price may remain the same as last closing price depends on the market condition, supply and demand. but normally if u queue higher than the last closing price, u will be matched automatically since ur price is higher tongue.gif
so eager to buy a company certain share meh. pay so high price for it? XP

I have two questions.

Question 1:
If say for eg, i have RM 2k in my trust account. Then i buy a stock that cost RM 1k, then adding the fees+charges, total for the stock is RM1043.60.

Will OSK auto-transfer (deduct) RM 1043.60 from my trust account?

If yes, then my trust account should have a balance of RM 956.40.
If no, then do i have to transfer the RM 1043.60 manually via online to the OSK share trading account?

I have not start trading yet, but i do own an OSK share trading acc...

Question 2:
Say i bought a few dividend stocks, and keep it for many years.
The broker firm has this condition which it state that if the account does not have any transactions within 3 years, then the account will become inactive.
My question is this, if i bought the stocks meant for collecting dividends annually. Then will my share trading account become inactive, eventhrough i still have the stocks in the account.
Does collecting dividends annually consider as active transactions?

Thank you (Btw, i'm still quite new to share trading) hope to learn from you guys/gals here.

thanks again.

collecting dividend doesn't consider as active transaction. Meaning you account will still be dormant after 3 years.

phoenix87 => thanks for the advice. smile.gif

jonat003 ==> ohhh, in that case, means i'll have to do some transactions (buy/sell) during that 3 years period..

Yup ... you are correct!
You still have to do transaction (Buy/Sell) to keep your account Active.

NO 1:yes they will deduct from your trust acc for Kenanga, not sure for OSK... i think still the same.
NO 2: your acc will be inactive if you have share and not trading for 3 years, but you acc will be dormant if you dont have shares and not trading for 3 years.

"For trades below RM100,000, online brokerage fees are 0.42% of trade value
For trades above RM100,000, online brokerage fees are 0.21% of trade value
For Day Trading, the brokerage fees are 0.15% of trade value
Minimum brokerage is RM28
Clearing fees – 0.03% of the trade value subject to a maximum of RM1,000 per transaction
Stamp duty – RM1 for every RM1,000 of trade value subject to a maximum of RM200 per transaction"

I copied this from osk website cos not sure how to interpret it
So lets say i am buying rm2 x1000 units worth of shares.the total i have to pay is the sum of

Rm2.00x1000 = rm2000
Rm2000x0.42%=rm8.40
Rm28(min brokerage)
Rm2000x0.3% (clearing fees)=rm6
Rm2(stamp duty)

So total is rm2000+rm8.40+rm28+rm6+rm2= rm2044.
Is this rite?

Rm28(min brokerage)
Rm2000x0.3% (clearing fees)=rm6 <--- also wrong is x 0.03% = RM 0.60
Rm2(stamp duty) <----- wrong is RM 3, by adding all share price + brokerage + clearing fees. for every 1K value, stamp duty will be charge RM1.

So total is rm2000+rm8.40+rm28+rm6+rm2= rm2044.
Is this rite?
*
So your real total charges are RM 2000 + RM28 + RM 0.60+ RM3 = RM 2031.60 smile.gif

BTW why your min brokrage so expensive? Normally heard is min RM12. Some even lower.

I'm interested in applying for margin facility with OSK. I'll like to ask:

1. Can I use margin to buy ETFs, specifically CIMB FTSE Xinhua China 25 and CIMB FTSE ASEAN 40 MALAYSIA?

2. Can I use margin to buy company warrants?

Thank you.
