the E71 getting fingerprints? other then the screen and the back, i don't think there's any other gloss surface that attracts fingerprints.

i got microfiber cloth for polishing cars tongue.gif
a bit rough compared to those for camera lense, but still beats tissue paper.

that's what i thought too, especially since i bought the phone in Kepong and not downtown Sungai Wang or LYP.

warranty is 12 months

mini review
likes:
1) camwhore phone - flip open and have the 5MP camera pointing straight at you with a large 2.2" display screen to look at instead of a puny view finder mirror.
2) stealth picture taking - take pictures without flipping open the phone
3) easy picture taking - camera button sticks out of the side
4) improved camera software - finally, it doesn't suck anymore. and I dare say it can rival camera expert SE
5) touch screen! - many many uses, especially in camera mode
6) i like the look of the phone
7) compared to my previous L760, the software in the G400 has improved allot, especially in the SMS department.

things that can be improved:
1) taking pictures difficult in camwhore mode - when the phone is flipped open, the camera button is on the right side. it will benefit lefties, but right handers might need some practice balancing and taking the picture with one hand. i know that you can take picture by pressing the keypad, but it doesn't autofocus. and since i have big fingers, using the keypad to take pics will sometime have my thumb blocking part of the lense.
2) show SMS in the outer screen is MUCH appreciated
3) would be nice if there's touchscreen games like bejeweled
4) free games, so that I wouldn't have to pay RM8 for tetris

that's all i can think off. lots of other features i haven't try yet like movies, music, other built in software.

and since this is my first clamshell, i have yet to find a comfortable way of holding the phone to talk without getting facial grease onto the inner screen.

LOL. Then tomoro we do an experiment la. Purposely call u and then u answer and we see the reaction of others. laugh.gif

Perhaps you can map the bluetooth shortcut to one of your keys on the main screen? I do it on my Nokia, but IIANM Samsung should have a function like that too. Maybe you can try it out?

their reaction will probably: "big ass clamshell" laugh.gif
it's probably optical illusion, but i do find the G400 look bigger then the V3.

I've mapped out the bluetooth function, but to turn it off i still need to navigate the bluetooth menu, not like the K750, which is much simpler.

only the startup greeting was "My maxis", didn't find any maxis wallpaper though.
at the main menu the right [--] button is a globe icon.
unlike the L760 (which i had year ago), where the right [--] button shows "Maxis" word. and comes loaded with maxis wallpaper.

the G400 is bigger than the v3 by a lot, dude. lol. i like big-ass clamshells as i've used n90 and n93 before. so the g400 quite tempting. sweat.gif

wah. g600 and g400 using different bluetooth settings menu ah. i wonder why samsung didn't make them the same. maybe due to the touch screen thing on g400?

it will shows load complete, u goto go back slowly to see all menu, there are few pages i think

messing around with volume biggrin.gif

took this from the net, its was ment for u900 but our unit is the same for the volume setting, other then the difference in db, g400 ori setting is -3, i change it to 0 and there is noticeable difference....

Type *#0002*28346# It will bring up a menu (1)Total data length. (2) Line count (0). >>>Data load complete. Press Back & it will bring up another menu. (1) Load params. (2) Call config.

Press Back & it will bring up another longer menu. (1) RCV config (2) EAR config (3) SPK config (4) BTH config (5) Common config (6) YAMAHA (7) Rebuild

Key in 3 to bring up SPK Config Menu. (1)Load programs. (2) Call config. (3) AV – Qtune(mp3). (4) AV-QSynth(mmf). (5) AV-AMR. Then key in 3 to bring up av-QTune (MP3) menu. (1) SPK MP3 vol. (2) SPK MP3 filter. (3) SPK MP3 filter Ctrl. (4) SPK ADRC Ctrl. Key in 1 to bring up SPK MP3 Vol. Menu. Key in 6 to change the max Volume.

Input 55 & press OK, it will change to 5.5 db. default max Volume is 3db. I wouldn't recommend higher than 6.0db because the sound will distort, anything lower will be fine.

Once done, press End Call button to close the service menu & try to play a MP3 with max. Volume. This volume applies to your MP3 Ringtones & Message tones.
