i played with this phone before... did ask about the external touchscreen, will it lock itself? because u can accidentally touch it when it's in ur pocket.

the sales guy say ya it will lock but didn't say how

the external touch wins big time.. sadly the internal screen is the same size and kinda small.

neah i asked around its around 1.3 i assume will drop a lil by xmas + new year. maybe promo or something.

ringtone is not really loud, but the sound quality is really good from the speaker, with earphone (g600 unit which i think kinda sux when i paired with g600), i can only say wow, compare to g600 which to me is decent sounding, this phone sounded like it have higher wattage and lots more detail, the eq, altho preset improve alot from g600..hmm, comparable to wolfson mp4 player have yet to try with my mylar x3

hmm i listen to 2hours++ music and around 30 photos taken with lots of playing around with the phone, it is now still full bar.

i try u900 before, it was exciting at 1st then bcome abit boring to me cos im kinda use to the design, this model here caught my attention, built is solid, the whole phone i kinda big, it will make you think are those screen really 2.2" love the touch screen and photo viewing on it, u can even watch video there full screen (recorded with the phone).

reception is good, better then g600, voice is loud and clear and the mic is great, my gf was complaining about the ceilling fan being noisy (wind sound) for the 1st time of many times i talk to her with g600 in the same room.

photo is way better then g600, which i think is pretty decent, search online and you will see tht it is even better then g800..
compare to u900, the photo didnt turn blur when u review it after you taken the photo, 1 thing i miss tho of all the new tech installed, night mode, how come there is no night mode!? but photo under low light is kinda good, it doesnt have very serius blur tint tht most of the camera phone have in such condition. file size is alot bigger compare to g600, ranging from 0.9mb to 1.6mb so far. face recognition work on 1 face so far, other new tech stuff yet to try.

under low light the flash will turn on when you focus even when its set to off, i guess tht help with the focusing

so, the camera is better then the U900? I was thinking of getting the U900 too, until i saw the G400

btw photo viewing on the touch screen is abit slow when it is loading from memory, in my case 2gb, unlike previous model, photo can now be zoom in even if its store in the memory and you can choose next under full screen rather then exit and choose again which is annoying.
photo taking can be done without needing to exit the music player, too bad tht sms cant be view on the touch screen, such a simple stuff...c'mon samsung, why design such a great phone and cut short on some of the design? video taking on cif instead of vga is not accpetable for a 5mp camera!!!

abt the battery, i totally forgotten tht it will charge once i plug into the pc, so the battery life mention above is not accurate anymore, but charging was for like 10-15mins only on the pc.

Added on November 13, 2008, 9:28 amthx just helping out, and it is really tempting me too, cheaper yet much more fun compare to u900, i think sg set will kinda cheap when they arrive?
i never got the chance to use the u900 for a day or 2, only play around a little while...but u900 should be able to handle atleast 2 days i think on moderate usage, typical samsung, if i change my phone again this will be the 4th samsung i use so on battery wise they normally last me around 2-3 days with some music and only few calls or sms a day.

aiya tot u weare talking abt the battery...butalah me....hahaha

camera wise, i got no idea as i nvr upload it to the pc, u900 blur out when u review it on the phone, much worse the g600, but it is totally different when u view it on the pc, from gsmarena, which rate the u900 to be the best 5mp camera taking over n95, u900 got larger file on pic compare to g400, king of details they say, g400 is comparable tho, mayb loose out only in the details part which i think it wont make a huge different

nice pics.... now even more tempted to get it. wait for the new phones like tube and x1 to come out then this phone will drop even faster
