were u born yesterday? EVERYBODY knows UiTM is bumiputera only university since its inception in the late 70s. are u not aware what MARA is for exactly? u should read more. biggrin.gif

this is the same like a smoker suddenly realizing at the end of his life his lung cancer was caused by his excessive smoking, and now furious about it. go figure.

lots of people do NOT realise the extend of racial discrimination in msian education.....

and that is an unfair and inaccurate analogy.......smokers are doing a conscious and active act, and hence rightly stated should not be angry when they get lung cancer......the only 'mistake' people like tinsze has, is they were born to the 'wrong' parents......i think she has EVERY right as a citizen and tax payer to be indignant and upset about the blatant institutionalised racial discrimination going on here......

Y always wan to opt for local university which is not as good as foreign university and only accept bumiputera?

1. many people cannot afford private or overseas education...ipta is their only choice....

2. it is EVERY citizen's right, as taxpayers, to have EQUAL access to public funded education....

the reason why i used that analogy bcoz she actually applied for it.

i know u're aware that i'm all for equal education. but when someone applies for a course, it would help doing a little research about where he or she is applying.

she obviously was NOT aware......i don't know how the application forms are like nowadays, but i would bet it is NOT stated in the forms that certain unis are only for bumis......in fact, i believe application to uitm was NOT through upu in the past, and statistics about enrollments in ipta's did NOT take into account those going into uitm.......all part of covering up the discriminatory practices...

yes i am aware of your stand, and i salute you for that........

this is bcoz those private universities or foreign colleges is so EXPENSIVE.. a moderate family with more than one kids couldn't b able to afford the fees..let alone those who hv kids who want to study medical courses....

no no... it is the right policy... just like what wee meng chee aka namewee said... the gov wants people of a certain race to go outside and explore the world.. and then with the knowledge gained, come back and help the coutnry... i would say part of this is right, but to come back to this god forsaken place? noo....

why gov scholarship? if you are good enough you can apply scholarships anywhere in the world... it is your own education, so i dont think it is wrong to actually spend your own money... the gov is f_cked up, so for the mean time there's nothing you can do but rant all you want...

i voiced my feelings through voting, besides that there's nothing much you can do for the time being...

aiks.. offf topic d... fast go back 2 topic or mod will kacau

I will only say this: people who come back from studying overseas do not come back because they want to contribute to the country, no matter what the propagonda machine may say. Yes, they will be people like that, but they are the exception than the rule.

I can tell you, from experience, easily a significant majority (for people doing stats, that's Z =< 2.576) who come back to Malaysia, come back for family and personal reasons. Do you think they give a damn about the country.

Note that I have not said any thing about race. At the end of the day, we are all still humans. We have emotions, and the need for a family structure.

i can't repost it obviously, as the admin has deemed it censurable......although the arguments and facts are all pretty much in the public domain........

If I am not mistaken, the requirement for admission into UiTM is,in fact, stated when you want to apply for IPTA.
