imo its normal for me as fan speed doesnt affect much. btw, i think u should stress a lil longer. maybe around 15min but from i see, ur result are quite good too.

QUOTE(00007kel @ Jun 3 2008, 08:20 PM) here they are.. yeap the temps are abit higher at 48C max fan and 52C min fan... same thing.. 4C difference.. maybe u should try out other tim like mx-2, artic silver 5 or bang for bucks tx2 coz i think ur temp is a lil high but still acceptable la |

QUOTE(00007kel @ Jun 4 2008, 08:49 PM) yah the stock tim is sucky... now TIM so cheap. yep as i said will use proper tim on my new xeon quad + p45 rig... will use MX1... got limited amount... wanna save last time i compare stock tim and tx-2, there is like 10c difference. lagi its only RM18, so i dont think its very expensive |

QUOTE(syahirax @ Jul 8 2008, 11:16 PM) mind to share some tips?because although im using the S&S kit,the idle temp is around 45/47 and 62/64 LOAD mind telling me ur spec? what thermal paste are u using? imo ur temp is a quite normal if u are using the stock TIM. its kinda easy actually. when u are about to screw the sskit, gradually screw each of the screw all at the same time. |

QUOTE(syahirax @ Jul 9 2008, 10:58 AM) haish, sorry forgot to mention again, currently im using E6850.Manage to pass 3.7 or 3.8 but needs nearly 1.5v,thats why i wonder if the my hdt s1283 could perform better than now bro 1.5v is high. no wonder ur temp shoot up. the previous post on ur temp, is it at 1.5v? |

QUOTE(syahirax @ Jul 9 2008, 10:45 PM) herm well bro,its not exactly 1.5 just 1.475v. and basically when 3.6 i just pump up 1.435v.Whats ur vcore anyway? mine is only 1.45v on bios to get 519x7 with my e6550. but then even on load, my temp doesnt exceed 60c. anyways we are using different proc so it cannot be compare like this. |

shouldnt be a problem. the s-1283 will be able to fit in most ATX casing.

QUOTE(TomatomanzSeedlezz @ Jul 17 2008, 09:24 PM) Oh.. so what did u do?.. took off the sidepanel's case fan?.. and just use yer xigmatek hsf?.. since u are using AMD proc i think the SD-964 (if ur signiture is correct) will be good for u. plus its shorther so i dont think u need to take ur side panel fan off.I was thinking does it effect much if i took off my sidepanel's case fan and juz use RS-s1283.. or better getting Xigmatek hdt-SD964 instead. Cheers if u want to go for RS, then imo just take off the side panel fan. if u are too worried it will cause any increase of temp in the system, then maybe u could take it off now and see whether is there any significant difference. i personally think with or without the side fan, there wont be much difference coz im using a RS and i dont use the side fan but i have a exhaust fan and i get CPU temp around 30c for idle. QUOTE(NUR_VER.3 @ Aug 1 2008, 01:45 AM) just wanna ask, im currently using Raidmax sagitta and Gigabyte Ep35 Ds3 MOBO, most probably cannot fit. in most ATX casings or mid tower casings, if the side fan is installed, most probably u cant fit it in. anyway, u can measure it if u want to. the Red Scorpion is 160mm long, so u can measure to make sure that the RS wont hit your side panel fan.will the red scorpion fit into my case without removing the side case fan? if can, i'll consider buying this one to replace my minithyphoon HSF |

QUOTE(NUR_VER.3 @ Aug 5 2008, 03:29 AM) bought the HSF, this thing is HUGE!! and it did bend my board a little, not sure it'll bend further in time. i think should be okay. iirc, the fan has around 40000 to 50000hours life span. anyway, xigmatek 120mm fan cost around RM20-30 only. so even if the fan is spoil i dont think it will be expensive to replace it.But as for the cooling, a lot better than my previous HSF, thanks to the huge fan which causes me to reposition my Sagitta side panel glass to the inside of the casing. i did that to reposition my side panel casing fan to the bottom at the same level of my GPU. The "sagitta" logo were replace by stickers cause it was positioned up side down when i repositioned the side casing fan as for the conclusion, this HSF makes my PC look more extreme and a lot cooler hehehe Just wondering is it ok to run the fan at 15++ RPM continuously? cause my ambient temp kinda high, about 30-35 degree since its a small room, so the air circulation is not that good... will it reduce the lifespan of the fan motor? |

QUOTE(owikh84 @ Sep 10 2008, 11:26 PM) Dunno they'll take back the heatsink together or just the fan I'll wait & see tomoro. iinm fm123 comes with a fan controller... so noise is not really a problem then Thinking of avoiding the Xigmatek fan & go for RM123 as suggested but scare if it's noisy or maybe u could go ask bro AnG to recommend a silent fan for your xigma This post has been edited by ham_revilo: Sep 11 2008, 12:10 AM |

according to frostytech, it may not be as promising like it seems.
http://www.frostytech.com/permalink.cfm?NewsID=71110 QUOTE Should you buy the Xigmatek Dark Knight-S1283 heatsink over the vanilla HDT-S1283 version? I'd have to say no, every nickel plated heatsink Frostytech has tested has performed with a bit of a handicap compared to the pure aluminum, pure copper, uncoated heatsink model. Remember, aesthetics don't improve cooling performance one bit. btw, quote from the web and this is what the said about the dark night cooler This post has been edited by ham_revilo: Nov 8 2008, 02:02 AM |
