QUOTE(TomatomanzSeedlezz @ Jul 17 2008, 09:24 PM) Oh.. so what did u do?.. took off the sidepanel's case fan?.. and just use yer xigmatek hsf?.. I was thinking does it effect much if i took off my sidepanel's case fan and juz use RS-s1283.. or better getting Xigmatek hdt-SD964 instead. Cheers I initially took off the fan so that I could close the side-panel.... however, due to that, my GC's temperature decided to climb to high temperatures!!! (That was expected, of course) So I decided to not put the side-panel, keep everything cooler as my rig is folding whenever I'm at home.... Not too sure about the HDT-SD964 but the Xigmatek is the best bang-for-buck cooler at the moment.... See the review here : http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/cpu-co...harts,1967.htmlThis post has been edited by kmarc: Jul 17 2008, 10:52 PM

just wanna ask, im currently using Raidmax sagitta and Gigabyte Ep35 Ds3 MOBO,
will the red scorpion fit into my case without removing the side case fan? if can, i'll consider buying this one to replace my minithyphoon HSF

i see, thanks for the reply guys, but if i get rid of the side panel, then my casing would only have one 120 mm exhaust fan at the back, which means less hot air coming out from the casing? or does the Red scorpion helps sucking more hot air from its fan and sends its straight out to the rear of the casing?
for the red scorpion users, what is your proc's idle temp when using this HSF? is it always less than 40 degree(idle) in a non AC room?

Hi guys, The heatsink looks huge! Is it heavy? Any of you users encounter motherboard bending, warping after using this cooler for a certain period of time? Lucky it fits into a CM690. From the reviews the performance looks really promising, plan to get one, but I'm slightly intimidated by the size...(looks heavy),

Helps in having a 'closer' contact to your cpu also. This post has been edited by nas: Aug 4 2008, 10:00 PM

bought the HSF, this thing is HUGE!! and it did bend my board a little, not sure it'll bend further in time.
But as for the cooling, a lot better than my previous HSF, thanks to the huge fan which causes me to reposition my Sagitta side panel glass to the inside of the casing.
i did that to reposition my side panel casing fan to the bottom at the same level of my GPU. The "sagitta" logo were replace by stickers cause it was positioned up side down when i repositioned the side casing fan
as for the conclusion, this HSF makes my PC look more extreme and a lot cooler hehehe
Just wondering is it ok to run the fan at 15++ RPM continuously? cause my ambient temp kinda high, about 30-35 degree since its a small room, so the air circulation is not that good...
will it reduce the lifespan of the fan motor?
