but i heard the TX2 is watery right? not as viscous as mx2......

guys... i wanna know the gap between my cpu and core temp normal or not on idle? i'm using s1283 rs

yes, i start off with 1000 grid then continued with 1500 grid and i use quite a few 2000 grid sand paper to get the best finish but still cannot get mirror like finish... but anyways flatness is the importance of lapping other than that is just self satifaction imo...

hmmm...its weird IMO... try with other software like realtemp n see if it shows the same thing again....

try using everest to see the temp... anyways, imo its quite impossible ur CPU temp is 23c but core temp is around 40-50... my difference betweem core and cpu temp usually doesnt exceed 10c....

wat mobo are u using???? is ur mobo BIOS updated to the latest? ur Asus monitoring software updated to the latest too? if no pls do so... pretty sure ur asus reading is the wrong part.

i'm using mobo p5e. and yes i update the second latest bios. the latest 1 is still in beta.

wat about the asus temperature monitoring software??? try get latest too... if u have the 1 earlier tha E6750 then it might show the wrong 1 also

even though ur cpu temp reading is not right, i still think that for idle ur core temp is quite high...

actually u can take a look at the chart... even before i lap and with stock TIM, the temp is only around 42c-44c (core temp)....

and 18c when u open case is really impressive... its either ur reading is really faulty or ur room is super cold... thats all i can think for now though... btw what thermal solution are u using??

just and advice, eventhou its all rite but do refer to coretemp/realtemp/everest/CPUID... at least 2 monitoring softwares when u do OC.. else later kebakaran inside casing also dunno.. tongue.gif

actually... maybe u can try to remount ur RS.... n cheack if the contact pressure is good enuf or the TIM spreading is covering all the HDT onot lo..

vincent got lots of tips on TIM application thumbup.gif laugh.gif

so sad i lost my screw bracket..
