So far I've never encountered this connection being capped yet.

QUOTE(inganokusari @ Mar 27 2009, 12:11 AM) Hi all, It seems that U Mobile had a nationwide downtime today.. Check out : 1. Blog2. soyacincauI think this should be the first ever in Malaysian mobile history that an entire network by an operator occured... U Mobile - You got shot!!! Well I don't think it is really appropriate to say that U-Mobile is really the worst from an outage and with no announcement made. TMNET does the same as well whenever there is an outage.

U-Mobile does provide an excellent service on good days but their customer support isn't convincing enough. In my opinion, the very first step in providing a good service will always be a very good customer support team.

QUOTE(Wireless3G @ Apr 1 2009, 04:21 AM) First day use U Mobile. Time: 4:21 AM Area: Desa Tun Razak (Cheras) Modem Type: Sierra Wireless AirCard 881U Server Kuala Lumpur Server Singapore U Mobile really really have fair usage? My friend already exceeded 5g fair usage. but U mobile not cut hes speed. how could be like that? The Fair Usage Policy is there but it is not implemented yet. In my opinion, once they have a larger subscriber base only will they implement it.

QUOTE(suriah @ Apr 2 2009, 09:54 AM) my friends got rm 58, that offer/promotion time laaa.. QUOTE(cardin @ Apr 2 2009, 10:02 AM) its only til end of 2008 isn't it? stil enjoying dat rate ah? or already RM68/month? From the website, the RM58 monthly for HSDPA should be over but I'm not sure if they have extended it. However, RM68 monthly for a HSDPA connection is still considered cheap.

QUOTE(amiranna @ Apr 14 2009, 12:34 PM) ok, i looking for new Broadband, i fed up with Maxis already.. so, this Umobile is really good? what i mean the connection stability and average speed at night. I stay at Kajang near Saujana Impian. I already try to search network with my Hand phone and i can see the MY18 3G there. No harm in trying out this service since it is one of the cheapest if not the cheapest HSDPA connection in Malaysia. Most users of U-Mobile didn't really had much problems with it, only some occasional hiccups.

QUOTE(pokgaizai @ Apr 14 2009, 10:49 PM) Huawei E220, kelana jaya..... (surf morning or night also same) is it device problem? even i tried surf inside timesquare the same... its not speed problem, but latency... ping to hop 10.10.2.161 still ok. but from hop 123.136.101.194 onwards, 50% packet loss. Could be a signal strength/quality issue if it is a packet loss problem. If everything is fine on U-Mobile's side, then the highest possibility is your device.

QUOTE(amiranna @ Apr 18 2009, 09:56 AM) what is the best modem with price below rm300? Well, usually for this price tag people will go for Huawei E220. Besides, support for this modem would be easier to get as well since it is widely used.

QUOTE(zwanvedder @ Apr 20 2009, 08:35 PM) im just wanna test either my area got coverage or not... To test if your area is covered, as long as you have a 3G phone then just manually search for networks and if your area is covered by U-Mobile, it will be in the list together with a 3G icon next to it (this is done with a SonyEricsson phone and could vary with other brands).

From what I see, there are less people using P1's speedtest compared to the speedtest from speedtest.net.

QUOTE(anep @ Apr 30 2009, 03:20 AM) the modem type affect the speed or not? Usually if it affects, the cause of it would be that different modems will use different antennas in it and thus it will give different signal strengths and quality so your speed might be affected if the signal is not too good.

Does the RM99 per month plan have any fair usage policy? I think the latest SIM only package from Maxis is quite attractive but the downside is the 2GB monthly quota.

QUOTE(jesselau88 @ Jun 8 2009, 09:09 PM) your upload UM upload really a pain in the a$$ A HSDPA connection at a relatively low monthly fee, I think it is still reasonable and as long as you're surfing fine then I think you're quite happy since most wireless broadband via 3G these days aren't really good.

QUOTE(jesselau88 @ Jun 8 2009, 09:17 PM) yeah just wondering why it's upload very slow compare to others like DiGi, Celcom and Maxis. Any reasons or ideas on it? I can't exactly say because I don't have any insider news but my guess would be that UMobile's network has a very low bandwidth for their upstream but it seems that their downstream is in perfect condition.

QUOTE(jesselau88 @ Jun 8 2009, 09:59 PM) O.o UM's connection very stable lately, if the upstream can slightly increase to 90-100kbps as what I tested now is only 50kbps, then everything will be perfect. As for me, I need to upload some company files and folders when I traveling around the Klang Valley and PJ areas. Since it is the lowest price compared to others wireless broadband, therefore I better not to make any complaints. UM For light documents like some Microsoft Office documents then it should be any problem, just a longer wait compared to others but as long as it is stable then it is fine by me as I have experiences with Celcom Broadband whereby the connection always timeout whenever I'm uploading a file. Now this is real frustration.

Connected on HSDPA will have a much lower latency compared to UMTS. For UMTS, it is on average about 300-400ms.
