Well they could always just throttle all P2P downloads like what is being done with TMNET Streamyx. wink.gif

*
I was surprised with what some users can get especially digilife. Previously many commented that U-Mobile's service is really slow.

edy search for proxy ip n port.. but all slower than non proxy setting..
just stick wif non proxy
*
For a proxy to work well, your connection to the proxy server has to be good or else it is pointless to use a proxy server.

only a handful of UM users only. which is good...  rclxms.gif
and UM is not promoting its 3G broadband anymore, if u guys hv noticed it...  tongue.gif
*
They are not promoting or not providing? If they are not providing anymore to new subscribers then I doubt they could survive for long.

Well I think most ISPs are doing this to help conserve the bandwidth during peak hours or else the network will be really congested.

when downloading using IDM i can get 1.34mb max.. but not so fast in browsing..
*
Well, a lot of factors affect this especially when you browse a website, you will have to be downloading data from different servers say if you browse this forum, you will also have to be downloading data from Google Adsense server etc.

Perhaps when it is in UMTS it roams with Celcom since Celcom Broadband does have issues signing in to Yahoo Messenger. hmm.gif

i never achived 2mbps..

Technically speaking for an advertised speed of 3.6mbps, usually users will be getting an average of 1.8mbps if the connection is really good.

Must it be done in their HQ? I don't think I'll have the time to go down there just yet unless there's an agent or dealer that can process this as well. hmm.gif

ehm...i heard that the U coverage is based on the celcom's coverage...it is true? correct me if i m wrong...

ps: i had tried the celcom broadband before and its suck in my area. Now sticking with digi edge and very satisfy with its stable connection. plan to upgrade to digi 3g but at this moment it is not affordable for me since i m still a student....
*
As far as I know, it will only roam with Celcom if that particular area is not covered by them (also subject to Celcom's coverage).

for 3G broadband, it will not roam to Celcom
it's only applicable for call service only, not data service (3G broadband)

QUOTE(9M-MAS @ Mar 3 2009, 07:31 AM)
True - U! owns its 3G network.
*
It doesn't roam with Celcom for data? I read somewhere before that it will but maybe that information was false then. hmm.gif

As the settings look fine, I think you might want to call their customer service on this.

With 2mbps, I think any users would be happy for the price and considering that this is a wireless broadband, it makes it even better. biggrin.gif

yaya...but if compared to digi's edge, U mobile might be lose for the stability...
i alwiz thumb up for digi's edge, just the speed sometime dissatisfaction...
digi 3g may solve it, but the price is ..... blush.gif

anyway, too bad U 3g cant ppstream
*
Well, 3G and EDGE can never be compared as both uses a different technology. However, I do agree that DiGi is really doing well to maintain their service. smile.gif

QUOTE(digilife @ Mar 15 2009, 09:45 PM)
the reason  why digi's EdGE is so "good" is because there are less users compared to cmbb and U-mobile

however i am contemplating to try out Maxis as they ady do away wif the contract and if i dun get 3G/HSDPA, i can logon to its EDGE.......and they are also not enforcing the 5GB cap yet as some users download more than 160GB and still no cap rclxms.gif

any advice?

btw, now U-Mobile is still good, esp in the morning........and rite now , nite super peak period also got some congestion but i guess is better than cmbb
*
Maxis Broadband really depends on the area. So far, I only had good speeds with Maxis Broadband at one area. wink.gif
