I thought it's normal for HSDPA to revert to WCDMA, especially during idling? That's how they conserve bandwidth, right?

Added on August 15, 2009, 10:57 amBy the way, where I stay I have no bar at all. See the speedtest result...

On paper, it's 5GB per month. Practically not implemented yet AFAIK

You can use your prepaid/postpaid for broadband actually...but it's PAYU, which will eat your credit or shoot your bill up really fast.

I've used all four providers at a lot of places, and personally I think U Mobile is second only to DiGi, with a wide performance gap above Celcom and Maxis.

Just buy their prepaid pack and slot it into your modem

Hopefully U Mobile will then have the means to rapidly expand its coverage.

I'm an ex-U Mobile user, the only thing that made me left them was the lack of coverage...

384k is still fast enough methinks - definitely better than DiGi's measley 128kbps capped speed!

yup, but I wish for 1mbps capping

by the way, are you using DiGi? did they just say capping at 128kbps but did not do it?
*
Yes, I am using DiGi but contemplating switching back to U Mobile. They do enforce that 128k speed cap.

don't understand why U broadband only give us 50 to 60kbps upload speed.
You want to send a 7MB file and it take very long time.
other mobile broadband is able to provide use with at least 200kbps upload speed.
Actually, only DiGi provides above 200kbps upload speed consistently. Maxis does too, but not everywhere in its HSPA network. I got as fast as 1.07Mbps upload when I was using Maxis Prepaid BB in JB. Other places I got no more than 128kbps.

which digi plan that can provide 200kbps upload?

at 25KB/s, ok lah, better than the rest smile.gif
maxis bb at JB is fast, maybe less congestion. retry the upload in few more months when ppl starts to use more maxisbb there wink.gif

All of them. I've been getting 300kbps though.

Digi provide 200kpbs, that mean 20-30kb/s. The speedtest show 0.3mpbs upload.

*
Yes, that's what I meant. 200kilobits per second (kbps). I don't know of any providers in this country that provides 200-300kiloBytes per second (kB/sec)upload speed. It is still faster than Celcom(128kbps), U Mobile (57kbps) and Maxis (128kbps in certain places). I've reached over 1Mbps upload once in JB on Maxis. Where I am now, it's not more than 128kbps.

I agree, DiGi brags on HSPA but the reality provided is something else.

Maxis does a 5.72 mbps upload speed, crazy with a mere 100 mb files, only takes around 10 to 20 mins to upload!!!
I meant video to youtube.

Aware of that, but not avaialble everywhere, yet. Where I am I only have HSDPA.

Notice that U Mobile BB is now aggressively promoting itself via gigantic billboards. Saw two already, one by PLUS highway in Serdang, the other near Jalan Kuching interchange with Jalan Tun Abdul Razak...
