ooo yea i still remember i go drive until rpm reach 8 or 9 maybe ~_~ well that when i just got licence and 0 knowledge on these mekanical stuffs *demn how noob i am  doh.gif *

so far i think my dad havent change the gbox yet. thats why i need to be more cautious on this.  sweat.gif

urmm im not so sure if my dad installed that thing, any idea how to check it ? maybe pic so i can try see whether i got installed or not.
btw got somemore question, if i want to change gbox to m/t, how much estimated price?
just the gbox, not planning to go on other stuffs yet XD
sure bro, im studying at mmu oni,, got time we can go tt  thumbup.gif
hehe anyway thanks, its really fast reply  biggrin.gif

ori proton atf cooler is placed behind the front bumper, infront of the aircond condenser, a little bit to the left side (co-driver side).
some install it aftermarket and put it wherever they like. i put mine on the right side, shorter hose to the gb and the heat can be pulled by the radiator fan constantly.

u pull till 8k rpm ok la. dont go till 9k rpm if u want the engine to last long.
and also, the max hp is at 6750 rpm. so after that, not much useable power.
max power 147hp @ 6750 rpm and max torque 179Nm @ 4000 rpm.

if wanna change to manual, the cheapest is around rm3.5k siap pasang with 222 code gearbox (2wd gb).
a more powerful gb is 312 (japan 6a12 manual) and 332 (6a12 mivec manual). these 2 gb is 2wd and more expensive at around rm5k siap pasang..

im planning to upgrade my spring and absorber but not prefer adjustable.
is there any suspension setup which is still comfort but at least 2 fingers gap.

btw, mine is standard pv6 tire size.
*
the best would be adjustable and look for softer spring rating.
like me, i use 8kg front and 4kg rear. ori is 4kg and 2.5kg. (i'd prefer if can get 6-7kg front)
and it is harder than ori but still comfortable.
good in corners and quite comfy on hiways..

but since u want just springs and absorbers, u can try :
eibach sport springs + koni asorbers or sapura proride sport springs + proride absorbers.
look for sports absorber (shorter stroke) becoz the sport springs are shorter.

Just did 110k service 2 months back.. 100k already did major service and changed timing belt. Could be fuel pump problem? Cz it feels heavy during pick-up but its ok as it gains speed..
*
if there are no other symptoms, it's hard to do troubleshoot.
u may want to take the car to an experience pomen.
there are many probs that can cause this but i cant pinpoint it...

QUOTE(shdin271 @ Jul 10 2011, 08:48 PM)
urmm not so sure about that aft cooler, will check it later morning

3.5k wahh need summore money biggrin.gif but sure puas hati what,, rather than stuck with this a/t gbox ~~''
urmm i think maybe go for normal one first, after work then try others lool  sweat.gif
*
u maintain the auto gb la. gb rosak baru tukar manual.
or if u have the money, install manual gb and sell off ur auto gb la.
boleh la dapat sikit to cover the gb swap...

it's come out that the prob is not my GB..but driveshaft instead..mechanic said it already broken..  Nasiibbb..
Btw bro neuro, what do u think if i change my front absorber with standard one but left the rear with the adjustable ?
anyone had done this b4 ? start to feel uncomfortable with my car..
*
hoh.. DS broke? how come? u hit something?
for an NA auto perdana to break the DS is rare..

i have not heard of anyone kawin standard suspension on one axle and an adjustable in the other axle.
i dont think its a good idea coz the difference (spring rate and abs pressure) is big.
it may cause ur handling jadi gila..

its either u go with standard all round or sports springs + abs all round or adjustable all round.
if u want more comfy ride with better handling than standard, get eibach sport suspension + good short stroke abs.

what adjustables u r using? what's the spring rate?

i told u, u taknak ikut. haha.
i've experience 12k-8k spring rate already.
that's why i choose 8k-4k...
cornering not as good but more comfy on hiway or bumpy roads..

what the rm300 for?

u take the 8k spring from rear put in front. and buy 4k spring put in the rear la..

sup bro's..
just wondering how much the atf cooler cost ?
if go for 2nd hand, is it good ? or better go for 1st hand ?
my car reached 230k+, still old gb, old suspension o.O
is it recommended to change the suspension etc ? im afraid riding highway suddenly anything happen,,bahaya woo  ohmy.gif
*
2nd hand is ok, new is better.
if u want to buy new, get Hayden 677.

if the suspension never changed, its recommended to change la.
10 years old is very old wor..
if u have extra cash, get adjustable la..

gas will be a little bit harder than oil. but i think it will tahan better than oil.
if u want OEM spec abs, u can search for monroe or sapura abs.

if bumpy/sway too much, its ur abs.
but if ur spring are old say more than 10 years, u might wanna chage that as well.

if ur lower arm, there will be some sound of steel vs steel.
if u turn left or right, there will be "ktak ktak" sound and ur steering wont return to center.

"chit chit" sound like anak ayam chirping?
if that so, its the spring upper rubber bushings either not fit properly (lari sikit) or already keras.

affect driveshaft a bit if u lower too much.
for street setting, there wont be any difference in working condition for the arms and chassis.

it's Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS). prevents the calipers from locking the disc.
what do u mean by assisted braking system? is it the Brake Assist (BAS)?
or do u mean Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) or Electronic Stability Program (ESP)?

hi guys.. im still considering wheter to buy perdana or bring back car from oversea as our first car in Malaysia.

we are considering either to bring Celica 7th Gen,
or just settle down on perdana first

i quite like Perdana long time ago...

just wondering if perdana performance and maintenance suite as our first car?

any common problem???

thank you much
*
u have the Celica 7 Gen?
u still sayang the Celica?

if not, (hehe) get the Perdana.
if u opt for a normal Perdana v6 auto, u might be facing a gearbox problem.
but if u go for a v6 manual, no prob at all.
or i u go for a kereta siap bikin, with either RVR, Eclipse, Evo123, V6 mivec or V6 twinturbo; even better..

performance wise, for a V6 auto, the performance is so-so la.
V6 manual superb but if u get a turboed perdana, best...

maintenance wise, just like normal car la..
5K-7K km service, gearbox fluid change, check this and that..

do u have any kind of preference? auto or manual? NA or turbo?
what's ur budget?

currently im using prelude 4th gen. (vtec kick in yooo.  whistling.gif )

but i have fren selling his celica 7th gen..

anyway.. to cut long story short..
im considering probably just buy car in Msia instead to avoid the hassle of shipping and dealing with AP stuff.

Manual pls...  lol.. tried auto car.. it feel very painful..
aiming for perdana v6 manual as i heard it is top of the line.

I lurk in mudah and saw you can get a car around 30k for manual.
prefer stock one..

Added on August 21, 2011, 1:04 pmhttp://www.mudah.my/Proton+Perdana+2+0+GLI+MANUAL-10598246.htm

what do you guys think of this car?
*
this 1995 GLi should be around RM 15k bro. maybe coz its manual the owner puts RM 19k.
if u can nego keras, and get lesser, it'll be good.

im thinking of how to get perdana like this,

try find cheapest perdana, like RM15k

the goal here is i want it to look like brand new year 2010 version, which has sportier exterior, default body kit from 2010 ver perdana, headlights, front rear, etc etc.. and also the dashboard  also changed to newer version, steering wheel, etc etc..
how much do you think the final amount will cost?

- btw does year 97 engine and has different than newer 2010 perdana version? please let me know if there is other different
*
firstly, lets have a look at your budget.
if u are gunning for the cheapest perdana and make the exterior like newer 2008 (AFAIK after 2008 model, no more perdana) u can.
if u have bigger budget, then get the best/latest perdana u can get.

every perdana can be made to look like the newest one.
but 1997 engine (4g63p) is different from 1999-2008 engine (6a12) just like koh said.

so what's ur budget?

guna OD at highway gb cepat kaput tak ?
*
for anyone who do not know the OD function, better to leave it ON. OD ON button pressed.

Overdrive ON will enable the gb to go up to 4th gear.
Overdrive off will limit the gb to 3rd gear only.
to travel long distance (hiway) u must set OD ON.
in speed about 115kmh, OD on rpm 3000, OD off rpm 4500 coz only on 3rd gear running.
if u leave OD off then drive laju2, afraid engine and gb too much stress..

that button is for snow.
car starts in 2nd gear to reduce wheelspin.
it will consume more petrol rather than reduce it..

bro.. give review a bit about sachs..is't the supertouring model? how bout spring?

Added on September 28, 2011, 3:20 pmbro neuro, is 6a12 N/A has a potential or worth to modify? how much HP can be extract from heavy modified 6a12 N/A ?
just wondering..  rolleyes.gif
*
if u are planning to lightly mod ok la. if u wanna play heavily modded NA, i dont think its worth it.

v6 NA manual may get 115whp.
add piggyback, exhaust system, intake system, port n polish, hi cams, bigger TB; at about rm10K; u may get 150whp.

a fren in Vsixers pump in rm20k in his v6 NA manual and gets about 175whp.
but he truly loves his NA, so the love justifies the amount of money.

if it were up to me, i'd get turbo anytime.
get an Evo3 halfcut, installation, exhaust, IC piping, piggyback, boost controller; all about rm16k and u'd get at least 240whp.
get twinturbo halfcut with the above mods, rm13k and u'd get at least 215whp.

so, which do u choose? whistling.gif
