Wan to ask!!

Before update the firmware, normally wat u all will do??

Back-up using PC Suite?Or copy all the mass-memory to the computer?

Some questions about N95 8GB...target to change after Raya...
1.) How good is this N95 8GB? I have heard pros n cons about this phone...but not really sure which is true which is not...hope users able to share experience with me.

2.) Never use a Symbian phone b4. Kinda new in this. By going through this forum, we do need to upgrade firmware, software and install software if we want to. I aftraid all this will comes to trouble for me when i switch to symbian phone. Any opinion?

i do both..
coz my mass memory contains mostly videos and mp3s..

while the pc suite will help me backup my phone book as well as my appointments

mate.. u sure? installserver and FCA all can't be used..? den i rather wait....

what software are u using, garmin or nokia map?
i'm using garmin... the gps lock takes sometime which i wish could be faster...
it could be the garmin which is slow or it could be the n95 itself...

Alright, N96 is just like an updated version of N95 8GB, but actually, it not as good as you think. The surface is changed to glossy and looks more nice, but i tried that phone before and easy to 'drop' coz the glossy surface behind is slippery. Plus your fingerprints are all around the phone.

2nd, i think no people had mentioned here before, N96 doesn't have Acceleration Chip (3D Chip), means playing games will lag, there is a video to proof : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6zkJYF1w6A

3rd, N96 builds in with 16GB internal memory and i think it will be very lag when search through files even in my N95 8GB also little lag when accessing files.

4th, processing speed : N96 is using ARM 9 264Mhz while N95 8gb is using ARM 11 330Mhz plus a 3D Chip.

Conclusion, have a look at the price on N96 now, it's not worth it, spend few minutes to read review over the net, you will get a lot. The N96 comes with Dual LED flash and not Xenon, The DVB-H service i believe it's not available in Malaysia, so another useless feature.


About N95 8GB i currently using it and it's quite nice, just fullfill wat i wanted, but actually all symbian phones are almost the same just depends on the hardware and style!

At first i also worried about firmware, software and such, but once i got it only takes me about few days to master it, now i know how to hack the phone to install unsign application and flashing firmware is easy since they provided NSU and installing programs also easy through PC Suite

ok.. i've tried another attempt by using installserver and rompatcher.. i can travel to restricted directories, but still unable to install unsigned apps..

Thanks for all the info about it. It's really useful for me as I need to understand more about pros n cons about this 2 gadgets...
Personally, I won't spend almost 3k for a phone (N96)...But that phone really looks nice n attract me...Large screen, nice design, everything in one (as comparison with N95 n N82 n N81).

I haven't really go through these 2 phones specs and make comparison on my own...but based on your reply, it seems like N95 8GB has more pros over N96 and yet its price is rather affordable, for me.

Regarding to the processor of those gadgets, seems like N95 8GB has a better processor than the N96.

i want to buy a new hp, considering to buy N82 at first but some said get the n95 8gb... which is better overall ? need serious opinion here..

btw, what is the lowest price i can get for ap set n95 8gb?

huh? If you used installserver method, it allows you to install unsigned apps. I did it with v30 firmware.
