bro alex,
very nice to use...esp the new one cos with carbonmatrix drag.. there's 2 model for the 5500. The C3 and the C4. C3=3bearing, C4=4bearings Good to cast, but the 5500 size is too big leh. If you want it for casting, suggest you get the 4500,4600 size. Good for jigging too. If you want to cast lures, suggesting even a smaller ones. 1600 series is very good. |

Bro Fookie,
1. What is the type of reel that you are talking about? Multiplier or Spinning? 2. Your definition of DEEP SEA JIGGING: how deep is your deep? The anglers here knows that i do not like to spend unnecessarily, even the anglers got $$ and yet i suggest them enough to use setups.. Would like to answer your questions, but you have to answer my questions first.. BTW all anglers, i have completed the Thomas Stroker's prototype rod liao. Will be showing you guys the pictures tomorrow and delivering to Unker Thomas tomorrow as well. |

bro fookie,
I doubt there is anyone in the world that is doing jigging for 200M ler... My rationale is simple: 1. Converting from metre to feet. 200M x 3.3feet = 660feet = 660gram of jigs + the current swing at that depth = easily 900gram and above jigs..... in short to say, too deep for jigging ler.. On the other hand on your reel, my rationale is 1. at least 300M of braided lines 2. must be high poundage as the depth that you are fishing, easily about 80~100lb of braided line Even Saltiga 6500H or Stella 20,000 may not cater for such line capacity ler... Unless you use those big drum of reel for marlin that can fit 1000M 80lb braided line. Those reel are huge man...easily the size of a MILO tong~ Added on March 17, 2008, 5:00 pmBTW, pulau sembilan is in the range of 25M~40M, most of the time jigging is done is at 35M. The deepest point is at 86M at the back of the islands. This post has been edited by rorytate: Mar 17 2008, 05:00 PM |

Bro Fookie,
No problem with whatever noob or such la...we are here to learn from each other bro.. For P9 Reel: Fream J RM330 Cando SS4000 RM210+- Line: JigMan 30lb 300m RM120+- Rod: Abu Conolon PE1~3 RM150- Jigs: 60grams~100gram price varies per brand Terminal tackle solid ring: RM10+- for 10 Assist hooks: RM15 for 6(Owner) RM5.50 for 5(Yozuri) Kevlar: Size #4 RM18(YGK) *cheapest~ Swivel: RM10 for 20 or any good reputable brand will do.. Practically that's it.. Added on March 17, 2008, 5:18 pmI have something in mind for Pangkor/P9 fishing. Wait till i have booked the boatman. Our favourite boatman in Sitiawan. Morning: Squidding at pangkor Afternoon: jigging at deepest point of P9. Meaning that, 200grams and above~ Date: Somewhere in May hopefully Why deepest point at P9? I have rounded that place few times and most of the time i saw a sudden drop of depth....most of the time the larger predator will be at the verge of the sudden drop eyeing for victim. Furthermore, P9 is a scuba area but the divers are usually at the area of 35M. Fishing and trawling is done at that depth thus damaged the coral sea bed and high fishing pressure/competition. Deeper point less exploration. What say all anglers?? Will be using Talang i assume. This post has been edited by rorytate: Mar 17 2008, 05:18 PM |

Bro Fookie,
Pe1 = 16lb. the bubble gum that cambe out from the grouper's mouth is the flubber. Flubber is the floater for the fish. The gills extract oxygen from water and air is being used to fill in the flubber so that the fish can float upwards or sink downwards. Imagine a balloon. Grouper is always a bottom dweller type of fish. Not likely that grouper will swim mid water unless for a quick bite and swim back to its hole. Once grouper being pumped up to the surface, the flubber will be having the sudden surge of air thus the bloated flubber thru the grouper's throat. |
