There were no plans yet for the persona CPS but there were sources saying the neo CPS will be out by end of this yr and this will be the hot hatch version of the neo. There wont be a satria GTI this time.

A trio of Proton vehicles were spotted on the highway by reader the_king near the Prai Industrial Estate area. From what I can see, they are two lightly covered up Satria Neo hatchbacks and one heavily camouflaged Proton MPV test vehicle.

If we look at this lightly covered up test car, we can immediately notice a large spoiler at the top of the hatch, something missing on the standard Satria Neo. It doesn’t even really look like the one found on the Proton Satria Neo R3 so this is something new that could end up on the final product of whatever version of the Neo this is.

You can also see that the rear bumper is new. Those little side strips on the side of the car have always been on the Neo but on this car they continue after the rear wheel arches onto the bumper. The area at the bottom of the bumper near the exhaust pipe also seems to be taped up, indicating it could be hiding a diffuser-like design of some kind.

The photographer did not manage to snap a front shot of the vehicle, just these rear and rear three quarter views as he was driving alone and turning back to snap a photo is just not possible, or too dangerous. But this is definitely enough as we now get to discuss a future Proton product.

The Satria Neo was launched in mid-2006 and facelifts commonly come every 2.5 to 3 years. This could be a facelift for the Proton Satria Neo that could make a debut sometime next year. Now the question is what’s under the hood. Will the Proton Satria Neo finally come with 125hp Campro CPS power?

My fren who worked at proton says that the "GTi" code has been registered by VW..damn.. mad.gif so we cannot use that anymore.it is confirm the neo uses 125hp cps engine.

the blacked out wording at the back on the left could be CPS...
because on that side is the word 1.6..
and the spoiler is from the A1 GP version..

See the front looks here...

But somehow, I still prefer a Neo with R3 outlook but with tuned CPS engine inside! So I think it's good to have this Neo cps and change to R3 bodykit.

well, the satria neo R3 n CPS version might be launching on Jan 2009 accordiing to the sales person @ mutiara damansara showroom Proton. I was there to get some details of the xchange program that proton launched earlier.

I was keen on the Proton Satria Neo R3 version so he took down my contacts and will call me to do some test drive on the R3. hmm....not sure would ever he will call or not?

Well i went to the Proton dealer in Thailand today, and he could tell me that a Special Edition off the Proton Neo with the Campro CPS engine will come in march month, so just a little over 2 more months to wait :-)

Some more info on what he said about the Proton Neo SE is that it would be with automatic transmission, and come with leather interior, and the price would be about 30-40000,- THB more than the HI-Line version sold today as costs 564000,- THB

So a price around 600000,- THB = 62000,- RM
