I've just repair my Windows registry and everything is went back to the default registry.Now i'm facing problem on Windows online update.Got stuck there,saying my copy of windows is not validate. In fact i've install the genuine software on my pc.

Haha.. Everyone is going back to OC. Left rock the world of S478. Yea.. When says stop thats mean not even a mild OC will be made. Hm.. Why dont just get urself a copy of student edition of XP? Thats much more better then anything. And resolved the WGA problem.

Btw, sending back my LCD to service center for checking later. Really dono what happen to it. I mean wander which part of my system cause the blueish screen and flickering. Now use back my old school CRT.

@fylon,my Win XP actually is a student edition last time.I got in when i was in my U. Recently i restore my registry in Windows as there was something wrong on it.My Windows XP is genuine one,don't worry.Just that i feel the Windows like a bit cacat already as i wasn't formatted the whole system. Maybe later i can't stand,i will reformat it.Now my internet explorer is gone back to the version 6 already.

That what i wish as i cant find the problem with the LCD with other rigs. Hopefully is the LCD itself faulty then i will stand a chance of getting a new LCD as replacement. Well.. 19' widescreen is what i wish. Otherwise, treat as send the LCD for annual health checkup.

I was using LG brand now. Well, the customer service quite nice. Haha.. Atleast the "e"dmin not as fierce and not polite as Acer. Thats my bad experience.

Haha.. Back to ur question.. Icic, if me, i would just do a clean reformat. Much more better then restore the part of the system back. Well, play with window system image software and make an image for own system really is a good practice. Highly recommended! Incase anything thing happen, can just restore back the whole system to default instead of reformat or restore back of it.

what do you mean "quite rich"?? i almost pokai already... if rich already went darkside years ago. right now i realize that i didnt really optimize my 478. pointless to change it. it serve me well for what i need.

for what i think, if oc mildly we hardly feel the different. so why push the rig if it perform the same as stock?? haha... thats just my 2 cents. unless i manage t oc like fylon then that will be another story.

better fresh install and apply the genuine stuffs. auto update is not a problem. XD

@fylon, system reimage thing? I'm not familiar with it. My company is using this kind of imaging stuff to restore windows. I think need to do some research when i'm free.O/c a little bit not much significant ah? Maybe too much poison form the dual core already until you guys don't see any difference on it.

@kabu,i said rich cause you are aiming on a high end and expensive mobo. Our old school,well i also admit i've never fully utilize it other than gaming.I think i will re-install my copy of windows when really free.

absolutely right. tested E2160 @ 3.2Ghz, then tried stock 1.8. Day and Night difference. P4 oc from 3.0 til 3.6 not much feel, FSB and RAM limitation and Single core only. Seeing no point pushing our old ah pek CPU. sayang it so can serve us much longer.

@edmin,you owe an E2160 ? Nice result pushing to 3.2GHz.

still the same.... i cant on the pc 24/7 as my mum will help me shut down when there is lightning. well..... cant move to new rig as now it still healthy. haiz...

E2160@3.2GHz is 100% oc la...... sure got feeling la. i think the performance is almost on par with E6xxx. no point pushing our old rig that only able to squeeze 2 seconds faster than stock. haha.....

now jut window shopping la..... but i will go for quad core as now it sure will be cheaper when i want to upgrade.

btw... high end mobo is not in my list... i aiming for good quality mobo(non sli stuffs) at cheaper price. save the rest of $$ for more ram or better cooling or better psu or bigger hdd size or better mouse or bigger lcd monitor i know i hardly utilize it. hoho....

Hahah... To tell the truth. Really.. I dont see any increment of speed when OC my current rigs. As edmin had spoken, the FSB and RAM limit were limiting. By then, Acronis was good choice of learning the OS imaging. High recommended as it really very user friendly. Intro by edmin last time.

E2160? Thats the gem of E2xxx series on OC in compare with the the rest like E2200, E2000 and others. As it has higher multiplier and require low vcore for pushing high. U push it on 3.2Ghz with stock vcore?

Haha.. E2160 @ 3.2Ghz not 100% OC la.. That proc by default is run on 1.8Ghz! E2140 then run at 1.6Ghz! But then its a good OC proc! I probably will grab it if i'm moving to darkside. And push the proc to the max. Quad is a good choice for non OC kaki la.. Hahah! Maybe like u.

P/s: Me too! Aim for performance mobo with low price.

icic, E2160 is 1.8GHz. i mistaken itwith E2140. well.... if i manage to get it run at 3GHz then i will be very happy already. boost alot more than oc 478 with watercooling.

Yea.. AMD is a good choice as well. "Like never before" <-- Their latest motto! Haha.. What im surprise with AMD now is their mobo IGP can cF with GC! That what catch my eyes. And another thing, their performance mobo are damn cheap for now!

Oh yea.. E2160 was running 1.8Ghz at default with the default speed already smoke S478 miles a way lo. 3Ghz for E2160 is piece of card thou. Is not hard to achieve with good mobo, cooler & ram. As dun nid to worry so much for the proc as is the gem for OC.
