i believe what you are facing here is the blue screen of death, BSOD. you can try check your hardware for any defect, sometimes when damaged also you did not realize. you can try get another copy of the xp installation disk and install, see if it happens again.

while transferring some mp3s (sometimes jpeg files) to my thumbdrive, it says, somehting like, "are u sure u want to copy the files without it properties"? if im not wrong, its because i'm using ntfs while my thumbdrive's file system is fat?

will i encounter probs because of that ah? btw, default manufacturer settings is ntfs or fat file system?

sorry for the noobness..it's unavoidable tongue.gif

Set whatever CD/DVD emulation software you're using to automatically mount your ISO file when windows startup.

If you change your motherboard, you may not have to reformat or you'll immediately encounter a BSOD during Windows startup. The BSOD can be rectified by inserting your Windows Installation Disc (XP/Vista) and running a "Repair". However, you may not be able to re-activate your Windows XP/Vista if your using OEM. Hope I've helped.

I'd seriously recommend that you visit here to download and install the FREE version of Matrix screensaver for XP/Vista. Just my 2 cents, hope I've helped. rclxms.gif
PS: Make sure that you install in "Administrator Mode". icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi guys. I'm looking for a software which can switch resolutions instantly. My desktop resolution is 1280x1024 and I'm developing applications for resolutions of 800x600 and 640x480. I just want to know how the screen will look like, then switch back and continue my design/development. I've tried virtual desktops but it cannot set its own resolution, it shares with the main desktop.

Thanks.

EDIT - Never mind, I found a virtual desktop manager called Dexpot which enables customized resolutions.

Congratulations on your find. I've got a suggestion for you without 3rd-party programs. How about right-clicking in "Desktop" -> Properties -> Advanced -> Change your resolution from there?

Urm, I'd recommend Parallels or VMWare if you've got the "dough" (brows.gif) or Virtual PC (From Microsoft, free).
