using their own laptop is to see if its configuration problem or technical problem. Its just like seeing if its software problem or hardware problem.

Cath, what wodenus is saying is that it may be some software/spyware that causes the slow speed. Or maybe the modem setting is wrong.

yeah... they should be doing it step by step.
First checking the the speed from their very own lappy. If the speed is good, then
Second, check the user's setting and see if there are spyware around.
3rd if its the spyware that is causing the problem, they should encourage the customer to backup their datas and then format the pcs. Detecting which are the spyware is a hell of a job even though you have spybot or things like that.

If the technician don't do that, i suspect that he just care about getting his/her salary and act of doing his job to his/her superior.

anyway, Cath, How things work out?

by the way, where the heck is there head office located? couldn't find it in their website.

yeah wesley, i believe there are still a lot of unanswered questions like how much every month have to after the 12 months contract and do we need to sign up again once it ends or it automatically continues? and if we cancel after the 12 months, do we still need to pay for the rm180 admin fee?

hope someone can clear things up?
*
THe RM180 fee is only for the 1 week warranty with usage above 3 MB la. and after 12 months, you are still attached to the company but it will be suspended untill you top up your account. As for how the top up is gonna be, i have yet to get any confirmation with them.

i think her subscription had been pretty long now. If i am not wrong, you should be sending the gadget back to izzi at wisma olympia to get the refund if its not mroe than 6 months. But i would still like to know more about what antenna did the technician use and what is the technician's name.

QUOTE(C@Th @ Apr 6 2008, 12:03 AM)
Yes.. the technician tried 2 types of antenna to test out the speed...ommi & ommi-directional antenna
1. ommi antenna -- Long stick of metal thinggy... place outside of the window inside my room.. according to him.. even he used this antenna to test, the speed is no difference.

2. ommi-directional antenna -- He tried to use this and place outside of the window as well.. but direct point to sunway hotel area there to test it out. Thought can get better speed.. but worse than the original Izzipro with the antenna speed.. laugh.gif

Anodize, i hope this can help to answer ur question. But i wondering, since u said you also help up Izzi and selling such product, but how come you dunno what antenna they using or technical  issue we are facing? I thought you should know it well than us? unsure.gifwhistling.gif  whistling.gif

For the technician name, i dun want to reveal here lar.. Cos he's not as bad as the Mr.Lee that i mentioned b4...  For me, i guess he really spent time and put his effort to help me do the troubleshooting. Therefore, i think it's ok for me. I got no complain for him.  smile.gif
Ya, the guy told me that, he just tested in sunway hotel the other day at 5th floor.. the speed is very slow even the station just on top..  wink.gif  wink.gif signal even worse than mine.. he also dun understand... as my part.. same thing, he said he also dunno how to troubleshoot already as the connection speed not stable at all. I showed him all the speed test i done so far.. sometime, i can get 800kbps, and that only i got it 1 time only.. the rest of the time, i got is between 36kbps-400kbps only.. dry.gif<_<

as i'm waiting for the technical report out and see what's the CS supervisor say 1st... then only i will think of refund or not. My subscriptions period is from November until now.. almost 5 months... hopefully it's not to late.

Yes, according to the technician, if i need to get back the refund, i have to go directly back to the reseller as i purchase the package via reseller and not directly to them.. this is what the guy told me. dry.gif

Lol... I do help sell izzi products... but i am never in the technical department... however, i do contact the head of the technical guy when my customer faces problem. As for the antenna, i really have no idea which antenna they use. And since you said that the guy uses the panel antenna, i think he should use that antenna to face usj 1 instead of sunway resort which i think is further away from your place. Please reveal the technician's name in my PM so that i know who i am referring to when i talk to the head.

cath, the malay guy that tested at your area is not the expert yet... i believe that he should've adjusted the panel antenna facing toward USJ 1 area as sunway too congested. If you do call them again, maybe you can ask them about it. Thats all i can say for now. I hope that they will build another tower at sunway to supply enough bandwidth for all sunway people.

QUOTE(nbee @ Apr 7 2008, 10:58 PM)
i was astonished when i once used izzi, so smooth with download n surfing. rclxm9.gif
i change my package from izzi you to izzo pro, paying some extra fees of course, after finding out that i can totally NOT play online game with 'you' but enjoy myself using my friend's 'pro' to play. The reseller told me that i cant change my package when i called them shakehead.gif , but the technical support team who came to my house terus offer me the upgrade, sweet icon_rolleyes.gif .

After one month, the goodness stopped...

-everytime it rains (sini kl, so it's like every afternoon + the super thunders), they closes down the connection...
-many times at midnight (best time to frag n pawn), the connection suddenly shuts down for a few HOURS
-the download speed was so sweet b4 the big n long period of connection cut n slow down for nearly one week(according to the person that i spoke to at the hotline, it was an UPGRADE due to the growing users)...
now, the speed test sux n the latency is extremely jumpy, after the UPGRADE, these two can already kill my gaming life, better u kill me... rolleyes.gif

by the way, i'm at sunway area
*
To my knowledge, izzi uses Radio Frequency. It will not get affected by the rain. but as for thunder, it might affect a little. but never closes down connection.
I've been using izziyou from nov... so far, there is only once where i get to connect but not manage to surf... but that was for about 5 hours... but after that, it was fine.
And as for gaming wise, frankly speaking... i do not encourage to apply izzi for those heavy gamers such as DOTA.

QUOTE(epyteh @ Apr 7 2008, 11:05 PM)
bump for u... totally agree with what u are saying...

i cant play game as well... and my p2p download speed... i also dowan mention about it already....

good to hear that you've got great dl speed.
I believe that thunderstorm would affect the latency but it will not affect the signal...

hmmmm maybe the forum admin could start a poll about this. Then everyone who read the thread would know if they should be subscribing to izzi at their area or not lo.

nbee: yeah, I had the same problems yesterday as well.  None of my messenger programs could connect and I couldn't view a single webpage.  I kept rebooting and logging in again, but it didn't make any difference.

The icing on the cake was the fact that whenever I ran the iZZi speed test, it showed my dl speed at 800kpbs and my upload speed at 200kbps, with a signal strength of 92%.

BUT IT COULDN'T LOAD A SINGLE PAGE.

I believe you are using izzipro right? if you are, try to set your router to MTU1400 and try again.

are you a p2p whore? do you use qvod to download movies? if you do, try to shut down your qvod terminal in your task manager cuz it consume all your band width. there are some software that takes up all your bandwidth. try that and see if it works now.
