Bercham is near where I'm staying, Taman Wah Keong. I knew a few friends who into home theater and like to watch movies. We always go yum cha every weekend. Maybe we can arrange a yum cha session. Don't know how much Htkaki want to let go his yammy rx-v1800 wink.gif

Nice.. M&K subbie? I went to fren's place & he had the MX-125 in his setup... really nice musical bass, plays tight in HT too but he doesn't play it loud... nice tight, classy bass, 2 x 12" drivers thumbup.gif

no problem.... as i say RX-V1800 is 3 to 4 folds better than the 665

bro ar, does it answer what you are looking for base on the website??

like i say me layman only but i sure can tell what good bass is, but i really dont know if it meet your requirements

luckily have 2 RCA phono L/R jacks power in...
connected it with the yammy main left and right pre out.
set cross over setting at 95hz,
Sub level at 1 o'clock
power up the system.... standing by... biggrin.gif

curi some 5minutes of astro time (between advertisment)
load in Sheffield Lab's ~ James Newton Howard & Friends ~ Track 9
AVR at pure direct mode, crank up the volume....... presto, tight mid-bass, and bottom end, blends very well with audica's satellites

saw the site.. no it doesn't answer.. sorry sad.gif

Frequency Response 20-125 Hz +/- 2 dB

this means it's quite flat ..which is good.. but doesn't tell how loud..

seriously.... it really makes me wonder y u ask that question in the 1st place
can SVS do that kinda stuff?? rclxub.gif

or r you refering to the impact/impulse of an atomic bomb that no subs can do??

Added on September 15, 2009, 12:15 amdont know how far is it true, i haven't withness it personally

heard from a fren that bass from some subs can really make your pants (of course the leg part la) move
i find it very "Kua Cheong"
even if its true... its not hifi already not the original but AMPLIFIED

the true to originals are drums performances during dinner, or our Lion Dance "drum beat" which really kick one's heart and it depends on how enclosed the area is.
this is what i call original HiFi sound, and that's what we shud be aiming after all this years of quest smile.gif

we use sub when watching movies for the LFE track, not buy sub primarily to listen to music in a stereo system la.. so why talking about Hifi sound? hmm.gif

anyway, since you havent' heard svs type of sub or submersive perform at 20-30Hz, how would you know it's kua cheong sound?

maybe it's something else, maybe it's the part of low frequency sound that you don't hear, but feel..

at 20hz loudness in DB is not what your ears hears, maybe it's more of what your body feels..
