I think you have too high of an expectation for Animation and FX. I think you will agree with me that you will not find that many games that comes close to the really high quality animation Relic does for DOW and COH....So its hard to compare any games animations with Relics.
*
Yeah, quite true.Even Blizzard lose to Relic in terms of animation. tongue.gif I think im spoiled by Relic's animations.

I dont really care much because im playing this from icon view most of the time.Only zoom in when im winning to see my capital ships.Even the animations are bad but the sky box are beautiful.

The gameplay is really good. Not too hard to manage an empire and it's fun.

It does feels like Settlers in space.

Definitely getting this game now.Good gameplay, constant support and no DRM

We've been playing 10 player gigantic maps on high end systems - yet we still have to turn down to low/medium because OMG, it's so damn laggy. On ventrilo when a huge fleet battle's about to happen, we'll shout:

"EVERYONE! ZOOM OUT!"
*
Wah,this game can lag one ar? :S

Does it mean if i zoom out then it wont lag?

I want to try 10 player FFA when i got mine.Got back stab to death by the ai yesterday.

Yeah I think its someone's connection, I doubt that a C2D 2gig pc 800 and a 8800gt cant handle this game with everything on.
Then you cant micro your dying ships lor?  ohmy.gif
*
I think it's someone's connection or com.Really doubt that it's your com or the game.

My rig has some minor problems on running DoW and CoH but with Sins,it manage to run it perfectly.

Once I had like 35 bombers fully upgraded shield penetrating bombs, one hit and cap ship bye bye.
*
Yeah, they are scary when you have a swarm of them. They chew through everything!!!

My last game was the first time i see 20+ Cobalts die so fast.I had 20+ Cobalts,3 cap ships,10+ carriers,15 LRM.There is more coming.

That fleet manage to kill a cap ship quite fast too.

Now,i notice the ai is pretty crappy. It's not as good as i thought.

Humans always beat AI no matter what.

Yeah but Iron Clad claim that they have a good ai.It's still not as ass kicking as DoW AI Mod's ai.

The Sins ai tend to tech too slow.

I guess you guys should also take a look at this:

QUOTE
Despite the phenomenal success of Sins of a Solar Empire both in terms of sales and in reviews, we are just getting started! Ironclad and Stardock have a whole host of goodies in the pipeline for Sins of a Solar Empire.

First, we've decided to split the next major update into two parts. This way, we can release an update sooner.

The first update will be called Sins of a Solar Empire v1.04.  This version will contain some balancing updates based on player feedback, more computer AI updates, and other game play tweaking.

The second update will be Sins of a Solar Empire v1.1.  This will be a more significant update providing a considerable overhaul of the multiplayer system with more features and updated networking code to make it more robust under a whole series of circumstances. I can't go into too much detail but it's pretty cool stuff.  v1.1 will also include new graphical options including one with very high resolution textures.

After v1.1, we'll see where we're at and go from there.  Stay tuned!

I herd they they are goin to add another race in their patches I wonder have they officially announced it yet.
*
Where is the source?

What race is it?Is it something like HW:C's the Beast or it's Tyranids?

If thats true, this game really gets better with time.

Besides,Blair Fraser did say that the diplomacy system gonna get some serious work on it.

I think a new race is more suitable for an expansion than a patch.Hope Sins dont become another balance nightmare like DoW.Im actually happy with 3 races now. They just need to be more different from each other more.

Im not so sure but i think you need to download the previous patches. You will be able to update the game with the launcher....you'll understand when you get the game trust me.

I know i hate Dota too...but its not about that...imagine the single multiplayer platform and GPGnet working together as one common platform. It will be easier for match making and as they say the more the merrier.
*
but but but,it's DotA with some polish. doh.gif I dont like it and i dont want that to have anything to do with Sins.I could say it's one of the best game i ever played from what i see from the demo.

I dont care if it's C&C3,RA3,DoW2 or anything else BUT not commercial version of DotA.

How good is GPGnet? Is it stable?

Maybe that could be the reason that patch 1.1 implement new network codes. They might be using GPGnet.

hmm.gif Hmmm yeah maybe 1.1 could be for that...GPGnet is pretty good...its a more robust multiplayer lobby compared to what Sins has now.
*
Than, maybe i'll treat that as a trade off for better multiplayer network codes but but but why Demigod?????????

I don't know. I dont care either. But its GPG a big company. Its a business thing. And the most interesting thing is....Chris Taylor and his statements about the state of PC gaming. Now that they are gonna use stardock...no DRM...I wonder how Chris Taylor feels about the no DRM thing...Dont forget this guys dissed PC gaming because of piracy.

Aiyah you dont care about Demigods lah! tongue.gif Frankly I'm not interested in it and wont get it but its about GPG sharing multiplayer technology with stardock and a new online platform.
*
It's hard to not to think about Demigod cause it's a commercial version of DotA.Ah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 tongue.gif

If Sins expansion uses DRM,im gonna blame it on Chris Taylor since he diss PC for piracy.Never really like his game since Dungeon Siege.

Do you guys realise that Sins beta didnt have a NDA. No non disclosure agreement that meant beta testers were posting picture and videos on youtube essentially marketing the game for them hmm.gif
*
Is it?I wasnt in the beta.
