Wow, what a huge following to this thread. wink.gif

Just a word of advise, beta versions of any Windows SP release are not meant for PC end users, they're meant solely for developers. So update at your own discretion and as far as i'm concerned, Microsoft does not offer tech support for beta releases.

Well, it is normal, but you can always do the usual housekeeping like cleaning off temporary files and ensure that your defrag is scheduled to run weekly.

Also try CCleaner software to clean all junks from the system.

Been using the SP1 update the day it was released. It feels faster and more stable, no more applications not hanging.

no, MS doesn't offer the ISO to non-subscriber, if you want the ISO from MS, subscribe to MSDN or TechNet thumbup.gif AFAIK, they only offers Windows Server 2008 ISO image... try PM linkinstreet and ask him if the file is still there or not...

Hello.... thanks for the help guide about the vista service pack 1.........
unfortunately.... Why does my Download have an error when installing it...........
its about 800F< something like that)... error occurred..........
i try to installed it again.... but it seems still the same problem...........

my question is...
"what is the problem actually?"
"does it caused by the installer i downloads or the Service Pack 1 instabilities on Vista " ( This Service Pack is New Upgrade)

another things.....

its rumored that Windows XP 64bits cant support most of the software?
(Is it true)<-- my final solution to maximizes the usage of that 4G ram....
hope my problem solved......
thanks again guys

Hmm, not sure exactly what's your problem. Maybe a cleare description of the problem will let other help you.

If Windows XP 64bits don't support a particular software, there is a high chance that software won't run in Windows Vista x64 as well.

Yes, it is stable enough that Microsoft will release the retail packs for Vista including SP1 as well. Just like what they used to offer in retail packs for Windows XP SP2.

64 bit OS can emulate software in 32bit modes. But some might not work well. The real problems are drivers. Where 32bit vista can use 32bit XP drivers if there are no other drivers around, 64bit Vista and 64bit XP needs exclusively made drivers.

There isn't a lot of native 64-bit device driver available for XP and Vista. Also Vista 64-bit enforced that all device driver must be signed otherwise it can't load. That's the challenge most user faced when trying to move up to Vista 64-bit.
