usually once a week, between 30min to 1hr.
its really hard to say la, more than the price is the quality of teaching lo. no point getting RM 100 for 4 X 1hr if the teacher or learning environment is sub par right or its located to far from your house. so i suggest you go to the schools you have shortlisted and ask there. not much answer we can give here actually. even the rates i suggested differ by as much as 50% |

Eguy, i din say much better, just that I will get that over the RM 230 one. haha... nicer case to start with (yeah, i am vain)
truth be told, violin are more like hit and miss so dun discount you might get a playable one at RM 230. anyway, i duno if the others sifu agree with me, but i think for a beginner playability is the most important point before even talking about tone, and frankly, not much tone to look at at that price. so look for one that is comfortable easy and comfortable to play above all else. little ice: the teacher is so power? got short courses available? |

QUOTE(Karenalvin @ Nov 22 2010, 09:55 PM) he's my teacher. i got my grade 8 trinity with distinction grade (from totally dunno how to play violin) within 3 years (took exam november of 3rd year, so i actually prepared grade 8 exam pieces during earlier of 3rd year).and i'm not the only one, quite a few of his other students are doing as good. not that he's offering short course, he never waste time teaching unnecessary things. but if you don't follow each lesson tightly, you're the one wasting time, not the teacher. however, that's if you have at least some musical background, can read music and decent theory knowledge about grade 3 or best, grade 5. if starting as a totally beginner without any musical background, not that it's impossible, you have to be very very hard working to prepare for each lesson and taking theory lessons with other teacher along with the regular violin lessons. if you can buy time with money, why not? |

Folks...if you want to see a World Class Violinist perform, go to MPO Concert Hall on 8th Dec. He will perform with my FAIRYTALE FESTIVAL BAND on stage. I will play the Grand Piano, Mandolin, sing maybe 3 songs...while my 3 lovely Female Band members play Violin, Cello, Erhu, GuZheng and Bamboo Flute. They are also very good Vocalists.
Ticket in only RM10. you get to meet the wise Little Ice in person too as he will be there :-) This Concert is on 8th Dec. Starts 6.30-7.30pm. You can buy tickets from mpo.com.my...or go to their ticketing counter on 8 dec itself and buy b4 the concert starts. |
