i cod with en ahmad huzaifah (ts: ROOT)on 25-1-08 9-30pm in kajang to purchase his 2 unit 2.8ghz processor rm180,after agreed on terms cash and 1 week personal warranty in the thread he posted in lowyat last 10days on 18 jan 08.
after i met him about 45 minutes he already call me to enquired whether theres any problem with the processor (i still cant chk by then because waiting for the other guy (another Irresponsible TS:Torons) to buy 29" panasonic tv till 10-30 infront his bangi house .(his nervous call makes me felt something Fishy. Why so hurry ,u give me 1 week to test . right?)
only on the next day(saturday evening) i check 1 processor and found out its good. But when try the 2nd one (which r identical) on sunday noon ,i found out it wont boot though install to the same pc`s motherboard,i tried at least 5 times in different interval ,still the same it cant start ,the monitor dont show anything.i tried the 2.4 ghz(my original processor and the other one he sold to me,they work perfectly ,why??)
so i quickly send sms and email to him asking him to refund.but this is wat he(en Ahmad Huzaifah) wrote to me on 28-1-08:

do u try another mobo coz im afraid the processor oredi burn, follow to the warranty that given any physical damage or oc r not include. so i will not take any risk for selling problem item, like i said i have test both proc many times and its working. if u still want me to bank in i can do it but u have post me the proc first so i can check the proc for more detail. regards

to me i can`t post back to him the faulty one B 4 he refund ,because i hardly trust ppl like him anymore ,he try to emphasize the processor got burn and with physical damage.BUT thats NOT true at all,the processor is just as same condition as he send to me,both looks very new and NO burn mark or bend legs ,they looks good as he deliver to me,simple test only and common sense will tell if some one mix both the processor (the one works and the spoiled one)i can guarantee, u cant tell which one is fauty.after calling him for a rm 90 refund , He still insist that i burn the processor and trying to delay the refund and insist me to send first to let him chk.

i really welcome u as a middle man to solve this stupid sellers faulty item sold to me.he can come anytime to check the processor ,or he dont even dare to see me anymore? when he wana sell he can meet me in kajang ,now the processor sold & money collected and he dont even bother to come or settle, this dispute can be solve long ago by just come to my place and check nicely the condition of the processor.

wah2 getting too complicated here, ok i jus want summarize how these things are going around.

1. the ts bought two processors from ROOT on the same day, which ROOT has clearly insisted that he already tested both processors and In fact, they are working Fine. The TS went back home and straight away installed one of the processors and it's running normally, but then when he tested the other one with the same mobo, it won't even boot which I suspect this is a processor problem and as well I ve had this kind of problem before.

2. The TS called/ SMSed ROoT up and explained everything about this matter, also asking for a refund. And the TS showed the pics where The processor is just the same condition as In the first time the processor was bought.

3. But ROOT didnt want to refund the money first unless the TS posts the processor back to him first and Root is going to check it out whether there is any burnt mark or physical damage on the processor or not. But the TS doesnt want to follow that procedure, instead the ts wants to meet up again and asks ROOT to come over his house for him to test the processor. but ROOT can not, because He is busy.


ermmm.... Like This lah, In my personal opinion, If I were The seller, I will refund the money back and ask the TS to post the processor back. why? because since I am giving the personal warranty for one week and I believe no overclocking hasnt been done, because as you all know right it's quite impossible for the ts to overclock the processor where ROOT mentioned that The TS wasnt even sure which mobo to match the processor. so I really doubt it.

Can I know what motherboard you are using to test the processor ? Have you tested different heatsink fan ?

Buying a set of used Motherboard + processor or separately has to be tested on the spot/or immediately after/before the deal is done coz this two is very sensitive item.

Reasons of possiblity:-

1. The seller is selling faulty mobo/processor and the buyer too busy to test so when the deadline is gonna reach, the buyer tested it not working and talk to the seller, but the seller already know that it is faulty before sold, so he refused to refund/return and blaming that the seller has fixed incorrectly/damaged the motherboard/processor. (for a S478 processor if you fix the processor incorrectly the pin still can touch in and allow you to fix it, so if you fix it not according the arrow it may burn the processor ; a mobo can be burnt in various reasons if due to improper installation)

2. The seller is using the item all the time, but in the procedure to dismentle the processor/mobo he had accidentally shot the mobo/processor without his knowing, so he pack it and ready to COD/deliver and the buyer trys to install it but fail, and contact the seller, but the seller refuse to return/refund coz he confirmed that everything is working before COD/deliver and he puts all blame to the buyer.

3. The seller is selling working item, but the buyer fix it improperly/burnt the mobo/processor and purposely call up the seller to ask for refund/return coz the buyer knows tat a limited time warranty will be given such like 1 week n so on, and for sure some seller won't refund/return coz they had tested everything fine before COD/deliver and they blame that the item is spoilt by the buyer during installation.

I dunno which one is you guys facing, in this case I think the buyer has to try for few more times again, try with different heatsink fan, dismentle the RAM from the slot and fix it back again, try with different power supply when necessary, double confirm the motherboard FSB/ratio settings and reset the bios settings, and the last check your motherboard whether can support the processor or not, if it can be supported, try to check your motherboard's Bios version to confirm whether it is up-to-date to support the processor. P/S: a 800Mhz FSB motherboard is not working with certain 400Mhz/533Mhz Processor, and it is also very sure that a 400Mhz motherboard cant support a 533Mhz/800Mhz processor. Worse come to worst, just send your processor to any computer shop to test it.

R00T if you were to give personal warranty of 1 week you should refund. So what if you tested fine before sales. You could be lying. So if you dont refund because the item was "working" in your hands what is the use of warranty?

Looks like same case like what i encountered with one of the forumers in LYN Garage Sales.

To be honest, nowadays, online trading is gaining popularity as it is more time and cost saving.

And sometimes, we can really afford to COD for every buyers from different states and places.

One piece of advice for those trading via bank transfer and courier services, for buyers, please keep all details of the seller including bank account numbers, full name and NRIC if possible.

As for sellers, we have the responsibility to sell GOOD QUALITY items and not faulty items.
Always follow up on each deal and provide buyers with the Postage/delivery Tracking number (CN).

And as it is nowadays, most buyers always demand sellers to refund the money first before sending back any items which was found spoilt or faulthy. They give excuses saying that they are afraid of a possible con case or fraud.
IMHO, since the seller had sent out the item as promised, BUYERS SHOULD TRUST THE SELLER for an exchange or refund, ONLY AFTER ITEM HAD BEEN SENT BACK!

Just think, what if the buyer is a possible conman? He can easily notify seller that item is faulthy and demand a refund first before sending back item.

If a seller is stupid enough to refund first then wait for item to be sent back, chances are nearly ZERO.

As for buyers, in event of a seller that does not send back a NEW ITEM after faulthy one had been sent back, you can always lodge a report at your nearby Police Station.
If you had bank in a certain amount of money into the seller's account, you should be able to retrieve his personal datas etc.

But for sellers, we have nothing in hand besides buyers' mobile, email and address whereby anyone of those can be easily faked.
