So far my 1.1.3 is stable and dun have major problem... Contacts synced, ringtones functioning, YouTube OK...

However, My Number in the Contacts is shown as 1111111, anybody having the same issue? I'm on DiGi...

Hi guys, how do you seriously seriously turn off/disable edge? And I don't mean by installing 'services' cos it just doesn't cut it for me. It all started when I discovered that I could actually backup my SMSes and was surprised that it could connect without the WiFi being turned on. Then it started downloading all my msges from gmail, god knows why, and next I checked, RM30++ was gone from my credit. Here's the strange thing..previously I wasn't able to connect to the internet without a wifi connection present at all. I got messages like "your edge is disabled" etc. I just wonder how could it get turned on all of a sudden when I didn't touch it's settings! I even entered some crap in the APN, username and password but it could still connect anyway! It's completely beyond me! Can someone help??

Maybe you did swap your simcard. Everytime simcard is swapped, the EDGE setting will be reset to blank. Thus it will then try to reach the net eventhough it can't establish connection. Either it can establish or not, it still sucks credit. So you need to set a null APN again then.

Or maybe you can try iToggle.

Are you on Maxis? I used to have this problem, even though I put rubbish in the settings, it isn't actually saved - YET I can still surf via EDGE! Can you provide a bit more details like what firmware version you're on? What provider your on? What applications you might have installed that might have caused some issues with this?

Services is one of those must-have and it ensures that my EDGE don't get automatically turned on and eat away my money lol.. you should really learn to live with it though

Not saying it's definitely a provider issue, probably just that your settings are saved on the SIM or something.. who knows! and the iPhone settings page doesn't reflect that.. maybe permission issues? again.. more info needed

cheapest iPhone...with CC payment i dont think so...
Basically shop owners accept cc will jack up the price a little to cover others expenses for their shop while u will charge 2~3% CC charges for using the CC machine.

e.g. iPhone rm2599 + 2~3% guess what... haha if u 1 2 do installment plan another bank handling fee which >RM1500 3% vary on bank

If u still wish to get i can let u know where is the place to get....there are few places do accept cc....price is sky high~~

I am on Hotlink (same, yeah?)! I'm still on firmware 1.1.2 (OTB), and I have actually installed services. But it really doesn't work - even tho I toggle the EDGE to off, it automatically turns itself on! So I uninstalled it anyway I don't remember installing anything extra anyway (all I have are customize and summerboard), all I did was just backup my SMS to a file, and voila, I discovered this. iToggle? I'll give it a try..Thanks guys!

Actually I was about to recommend BossPrefs.. it's better. You can even toggle off your mail, because last time I have this problem where my mail will auto-check itself and download.. lol

Your EDGE settings will ONLY reset itself if you off your phone and on it back. Other than that it really shouldn't ever turn on by itself.
