Hmmm ... creaking noise? What did u do in the first place that create the problem?

Start from the sides ... make sure u have the proper tool to do so or ur gonna ruin the cover.

Phone came like dat? U bought it 2nd hand or what? Mine even so many times open still feels solid. Then something is wrong with the black cover.

Have u tried Settings --> General --> Reset --> Reset All Settings ? This will clear every setting and data in ur phone. After resetting, reboot ut phone. Hope this help.

Could u be more specific with what u did so we can help u?
1. What is ur OTB (Out of the box) version so we can determine ur Bootloader?
2. What is ur baseband version? Settings --> General --> About -->Modem Firmware
3. What version of ZiPhone did U use and what method did u use?

I don't provide service to change the battery. I change mine coz its damaged and swollen up. If people ask me to help then I'm here to help ... how much for the service i oso don't know. If u want to pay oso can ... buy me Teh Tarik oso can. Hehehehehe.

But one thing for sure ... better have the proper tools to open the case or u might end up with a damage case. Opening the case for the first time is HELL. Once its open then it would be easy to open it up again.

Its best to use the latest ZiPhone and use the advance features rather the one click solution. I like to be in control of things and know whats happening (BTW I'm not a control freak ... just curios ).

U can check the storage in term by typing df -h . If u really want to make a lot of space then relocate ringtone, wallpaper, fonts and sumore i forgot.

Bro ... did u use ZiPhone 2.5 and not V2.5b? If yes then that version have problem in unlocking BL4.6 coz got some typo in the source code. Get the new ZiPhone v2.5b.

If after use ZiPhone v2.5b still got problem then try to reset all setting Settings --> General --> Reset --> reset all settings and reboot.

Restore to 1.1.4. No need to put in DFU mode to run ZiPhone, it will handle the rest. U want to use the GUI or Command? If GUI then better use the advance feature and select Jailbreak, Activate and Unlock only. If u click the "Do It All" button, it will downgrade the bootloader of ur on BL4.6.

U can install BBInfo or HWInfo. Add this source to ur installer ... www.trejan.com/irepo or repo.ispazio.net.
1.1.3 OTB should be BL4.6 unless u unknowingly downgrade the bootloader with ZiPhone "Do It All" function.

Right now people are debating which one is better .. BL3.9 or BL4.6. Both have its Pros and Cons. Right now BL3.9 have the upper hand as it can unlock all the baseband whereas BL4.6 can only use patch 1.1.2 baseband. One thing BL4.6 can do that BL3.9 can't is to reflash with a custom Bootloader. If u go to iphone-dev.org then u can see (youtube video) the DEV team using a Custom Bootloader to bypass the firmware check and no need unlocking anymore. Update right thru itunes and everything working. Right now BL3.9 if want to flash to BL4.6, U have to do the A17 testpoint method i.e hardware method. But some progress have been made where they said upgrading the BL3.9 thru software could be possible but they have to modify the bootloader flash file first.

Ok ... initial report from battery replacement procedure. 1st charge cycle - Last for 2 days with WiFi and SSH on the whole time. Heavy usage of WiFi and SSHing to the phone. Autolock set to never so it wont go to sleep unless press the sleep button. Battery completely drain for calibration on 2nd cycle.

Now charging for the 2nd cycle. Wah ... the new battery really good aaaa. Hope can achive 3 days with normal usage before have to charge.

Better stick with BL4.6. But its all up to u actually.

If like dat means u didn't use the "Do It All" button la. If u check jailbreak, activate and unlock in advance mode but click "Do It All" and not "Perform Action" then it will downgrade the bootloader. The only thing to make sure ur still in BL4.6 with 1.1.4 is looking at ur Baseband version. If 04.04 then its BL3.9 where as 04.02 is for BL4.6.

Added on March 3, 2008, 8:39 pmIs ur friend on BL4.6 or BL3.9? Just put the phone in DFU mode (black screen and not the itunes screen) and restore back to 1.1.4. That should fix the WiFi issue. No WiFi means the baseband is corrupted. Baseband handles all radio comm i.e phone signal, bluetooth and wifi.

If the phone is BL3.9 then u can use ZiPhone to erase the baseband and restore to any firmware version. Hope that help.

Once u downgrade the bootloader to BL3.9 then u can't upgrade it back thru software to BL4.6. The only way now is thru A17 testpoint which is a hardware method. ZiPhone use an original 3.9 nor file to flash the bootloader. As i have explained ... only BL4.6 have an exploit that permits us to flash the BL to any version that we want. Original BL3.9 doesn't have this exploit to begin with. Now they (aCujo, MuscleNerd and others) are patching the BL3.9 nor file so it will have the same exploit with BL4.6. So anyone that downgrade the Bl with the newly patched BL3.9 (not yet release) can upgrade the Bootloader using software method.

If u restore using itunes to 1.1.4, u only restore the firmware and baseband but not the bootloader.

Waaa ... everytime i explain about bootloader, baseband and firmware, then my post would look like a research paper.

Added on March 4, 2008, 1:56 amNo problem in using ZiPhone v2.5 for jailbreaking and activating. It just cannot unlock properly due to some typo in the source code.

ZiPhone v2.5c only corrected the typo in the source code for the unlocking procedure. Nothing much of an improvement over v2.5.

Maybe u remember many people facing no signal problem after using ZiPhone v2.5, this is because of that software glitch on doing the unlocking. Thats all. So if ur phone is fine when using v2.5 then why wanna go to the hassle to re-restore and doing the same procedure again.

Added on March 4, 2008, 2:05 amAgain let me stress the differences between BOOTLOADER and BASEBAND.

BOOTLOADER = BIOS in your computer. The first thing that load when u press sleep/wake button to on. It check the baseband, firmware and sim and other stuff.

BASEBAND = Communication Driver. This thing handles all communication in the phone i.e phone function, bluetooth and WiFi.

So Ur question should be WiFi on 1.1.4 with 04.02 BB compared to WiFi on 1.1.4 with 04.05 BB, not the bootloader.
