QUOTE(n73me @ Oct 21 2008, 11:23 AM)
Toyota will not only be happily celebrating CNY, they will be happily celebrating Deepavali and Christmas as well. My friend told me that the vios got a long queue at the moment, will take months to get the car if you book today, and even longer wait for the white vios.

I was  blink.gif  , i  thought a lot of people are holding off their purchase to wait for this city??
my guess is the queue will be even longer when the city is launched (or at least when they announce the price of the city, from the responses of this thread  tongue.gif )
either way we will cry driving the vios or cry looking at the balance of our saving accounts  laugh.gif
*
maybe its part of their strategy, its like telling ppl 'hey, vios is still selling good, thats why the long wait.' so typical kaisu malaysian mindset will be, 'oh like tat ah, then i fast fast book vios lo, city also dono wut price and dono wait sampai bila, better take vios now, safer bet'.

QUOTE(fezanim @ Oct 21 2008, 12:19 PM)
eagerly waiting , if not i've to aim another car .. hope 18 dec can see the car biggrin.gif
*
the source is from a friend of mine who used to work in the event company tat always handles honda's event like previously the launched of accord and jazz.

Lol, if the Honda City is priced at 93k then I'm sure their competitors such as Nissan, Suzuki, Toyota and Hyundai will be thanking them for helping them boost their sales.

93k Honda City is in range with

The Nissan Sentra 1.6A standard and luxury
The Hyundai X20
The Suzuki SX4 Sedan

Mind you, all of which are sedans and are bigger and better equipped cars even though they don't necessarily look better.

very true nod.gif

Back from Krabi, Thailand over the weekend. Saw 2 city, sliver and red. Those high end spec rims are really shining under sunlight.

yes, everything is good except its a bit too pricy in sg, tats why the poor rating. read a few of sg reviews also have the same says. as long in msia's not more than 90k, i think should be ok although its slightly expensive already.

Well for me, nothing is cheap in Sgpore i guess..
But Let's hope the new Honda City in Malaysia price goes reasonable and affordable lar.
Other wise I will have no choice but pay(forcefully spend) more for a Toyota MPV adi.
*
i was thinking about nissan livina too.

QUOTE(mikelee @ Oct 23 2008, 04:34 PM)
Probably the most anticipated car for Honda Malaysia since the launch of Honda Civic.

Anyway this was from SHC forum:

quoted from one of the review by singaporean,

"One of the most attractive propositions of the City is its thriftiness. It achieves 12.5km per litre, even when driven with a heavy foot."

QUOTE(travis_ckf @ Oct 23 2008, 04:48 PM)
Hmm that makes the new city doesnt seem different frm the previous gen. Also i dont expect local reviews to be favouring the city as well. One of gems of the city, the ultra seats, were removed frm the new city. Now what matters is the pricing and that don t look good too here sad.gif

Looks to me toyota wont be having sleepless nights after all.
*
speaking of ultra seats, i was thinking why they excluded it. there is no reason msian wouldnt want it.

Agreed with u.
First thing is I still don't understand why Honda doesn't want to add the Civic digital speed meter into the City.
Second thing, why they removed the water resistant seat on new City.
Third thing, If the price is to be so high, it will sure kick ppl to Vios or probably user rather add more to take Civic instead.

It's still HM to reconsider on this.  hmm.gif
*
first point i dont think it will be possible, because HM wants to preserve the civic's uniqueness. as for second point, i would love to have the water resistant seats too. the current spec is ok, now we are worry about the pricing...haih....

Checked autocar asean nov issue on the city review frm the sgpore side revealing that the most expensive city is 66k, in which the most expensive jazz is 64k. If Honda MY imported this city frm Thailand, it will be priced at RM110k, which is ridiculous.

There is hope for cheaper CKD but i afraid the new city will reach 90k. I cant imagine how Honda MY will make it 80k with all the quality/materials considered. sweat.gif
*
ok, later i go read at magazine shop, lol how cheapskate of me. but surprisingly its more expensive than jazz even though both are imported. haih, 1 month plus still so long, so far away...

No le dude. Am not the SA. I got my Civic last week from a SA which i recommend. Good service through..
Yesterday somemore come my office to collect my ride for 1K service.  rclxms.gif

Yeap, I heard there are about 20 Vtec and <10 IDSi each branch. BUT will run out soon. Maybe if interested, engage a SA and ask for updates from time to time. However, I believe colors could be limited as this is some sort of warehouse clearance sale..  laugh.gif

I have got a very good SA. PM me if you guys wants his contact.  thumbup.gif
*
on which dealer is where is your SA based? just roughly wan to know whether is it near my house.

My current car, Myvi (almost 3 years old) is pretty bad insulated. Driving on highway is really uncomfortable. It isn't that bad comparing to Honda cars I think. Anyway sound insulation adds weight into your car, hence increase FC.

last time i went to the Perodua showroom to check out the previous batch of MyviSE, i remember after i have shut my door at the driver side, i still can hear the SA talking to me from the outside sweat.gif

I DID NOT at any point say that the Altis is a better buy. The list states the advantages and disadvantages of the Altis, and point for point, the City has more to its merit than the 1.6L Altis. I did indicate that if the new City cost 93k with all options in, then a Hyundai x20 or Suzuki SX4 Sedan, or a Nissan Sentra 1.6 would probably be more bang for the buck.

Anyway, bear in mind - this Altis is still a new model although it's more like a facelift in Malaysia. At least for the rest of the world, they get something that's 90% to 100% brand new :/

Some stuff found in new Corollas around the world:

thanks again for the useful info, very educable. ya, sad to say, both UMW and G are in it together reaping us big time.

QUOTE(badguy03 @ Oct 24 2008, 06:40 PM)
Definitely! In addition not sure also whether the hand work of the mechanic is satisfied or not.
I always get this answer "That how it is originally" from the mechanic wherever there's problems that i'm not satisfy after the hand work finished.  vmad.gif
what to do, they thought they are so pro that they have to leave signatures behind, as in black hand prints all over grumble.gif
