one shop in Sg wang selling 450d kit for rm2950..got 2gb SD, tripod, uv filter, n bag...

kit only rm2850..add rm40 u can get 2gb SD

there's another one in KL plaza, the owner ask me if i want to buy it now..bcs if buy now got 10% off..i checked d price ts rm2990..so after 10% shuld be around 2700 lah...

i asked got memory card or not she said all got.hahah..but d shop doesnt look promising ler.cust serv very poor

so confirm less than 3k and i just check the website 2999
but how come somebody say more than 3k

Is RM 2999 without the 18-55mm IS lens for the retail price.

lol...u guys haven't been to the PC Fair? got 1 booth showing 450D at (i think) hall 4..can't remember the booth's name..but the guy wear mykamera.com t-shirt that time..its quite nice btw (coming from a noob in DSLR field..wanna get my 1st DSLR too..)

now I'm poisoned by the thought of either buying 450D or 40D...wanna buy in the future...around September or October when I am studying in US..

what do you guys think? 40D or 450D? since 40D is just around $300 higher than 450D in the US...

Depends on what you shoot. If you love travel around and mainly on landscape, super wide and steady tripod stuff, I wound recommend 450D over 40D for the added megapixels count. Other than this, 40D should be the better choice.

I recommend 450D over 40D as I found a number of my friends only use super wide for landscape where they travel for bussiness. One light lense on light body. And they want light weight system. Some more such light system do not require heavy tripod. So everything also very light even including tripod!

The lense should be priced RM2.4 around like that... Still within your budget.

One note on 17-55/85, the lense offer no interesting perspective, meaning no interesting pictures.

Once you have the super wide, you can see your pictures very special...

Go for the 40D lor IMO. Lens u can always change later. Once u buy the 450 or 400, u wont have the features n goodness of the 40D n u cannot change anything. If lens u dont like, later can just buy new lens n change. U just put ur hands on a 40D oni u will syiok with the build quality oredi, sure buy 1. The 18-55 IS lens ok mar, shud tahan few months until u bekside itchy to buy new lens.

+ more standard battery, last longer
+ CF card support
+ Much better autofocusing capabity
