If ori battery it can last more than 2 year (my own experienced) but most of the fake battery are suck. They last less than a month.

Try to avoid software running in the background. Use shorter ring tone for call and SMS.

Using Nokia maps for navigation will cause high usage of data transfer because it will keep downloading the map data. And you still need GPS device to do that. Please check first page for more info using GPS on N80

Nokia Maps puts free* downloadable maps and routing from A to B in your hands, in an earth browsing experience that allows you to zoom in from the globe to the destinations of your choice. With free maps for more than 150 countries, and with 15 million points of interest pre-loaded, you can plan your route street by street, city to city.
From nokia

so..it is free..since im using broandband unlimited..there wil be no extra charge..i think so..

Taken from Nokia Maps website

How it Works
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

GPS

Routing

I think you still need GPS to enable routing. Anyway, I will try to install it and see how it works.

Just install the software, the map are details for KL area but not in Bintulu area. My current software 100% better in term of map details in my area. You can get map for free and use it for planning your route but in order to use it for road navigation (here the link ) You must purchase to enable that function.
