for about rm500 to 600 more you can get the 40d
*
When i bought 350D... there was no 40D.... there was only 30D... and 30D was 5k+.. 350D costed me 1.9k only...

And HEll yeah... 40D is really dirt cheap for what it has.... It's really tempting me, but i have decided to invest into my lens... hahaha... Wait 50D come out first... then BUY!!!!

don't tell me you use 50mm f1.8 at f1.8? smile.gif
*
NO.. i seldom... really really seldom.... when i first got my 1.8.. yes i do.. i snap at f1.8... all pictures.... Now i know that it's important to control the bokeh when snapping potraits or else it'll turn out a mess for the background... =) I usually snap 2.4 above for full body or half body potraits...

more like controlling depth of field.

anyway my post wasn't about depth of field, it's about sharpness.

sure it can go f1.8 but for lenses, they're not at their sharpest when at their widest aperture. which is why snapping at f1.8 on the 50mm would mean that you not only have lesser DOF but also less sharp pictures.
*
i see... the 50mm f1.8 is sharp after f2.8.. i have figured out from the pictures i have took to test...

There's a MTF chart to read to identify the best f stop for the sharpest quality. But til now i have not figured out how to read it... sad.gif

yeah. i usually snap at 2.8. i might increase (meaning lower number) a bit if i need the condition needs it. smile.gif
*
Yeah... i also do that...

BTW, do you know how to read the MTF chart?

If you do... write a blog for it! =)

wjie20.. what i mean is... if i get BG E3, i will make my self stick to 350D, wont upgrade to 40D lor, coz already spent 400+ for the BG E3. coz now i still dun have BGE3 mah... If im buying 40D, so no point getting BGE3 for my 350D.. =)

Luckly i bought a spare battery on last Friday.

If no habis lah me. Dunno how to collect money from my supplier.

The Sigma 24-70mm working very well.

Never buy the wrong lens. But u dun compare with the canon 24-70 L-series one lah.

The picture is very good and fast lens. Recommended.

guy,

I fell sad on my Sigma 24-70 EX f2.8 Marco. I just bought about 1 week.

Now the lens like cannot focus properly.

Like blur, How?

Stil got nearly 1 year warranty.

My friend tell me not to take by this lens if Fotokem change the new lens to me. This is becasue this lens alot of quality problem.

He propose me to take Tamron SP 17-50mm f2.8. Is this lens good?

I read thereview on this lens. this lens rated high in all review.

I really sad on this Sigma lens. Just serve me 1 week. Now gone.

The photo is damn good but...................................die oredy
*
Depends you bought that 24-70mm for what purpose... If you were going for the macro.. then get another macro lens... if you are buying it as a walk around lens.. then get the tamron 17-50mm f2.8. Wont go wrong with this lens... only thing is no IS. but constant F/2.8. should be alright...

hmm... wondering how much 400D will drop to... or it doesn't affect it at all?
*
As i experienced the similar situation before... as i know... when 450D dropped it's price closer to 400D( maybe around RM300+ difference ) then 400D's price will only start to drop gradually.. and 450D will drop too but very very little.... just like 400D came out and what happened to 350D... might be the same...

AND MAYBE this time.. 17~40L will become optional "kit lens"... hahahahaha.... just kidding..

No Prob.. BTW, just want to ask opinion, you guys not willing to pay for these sort of 'grey" sets w/o local warranty even if it's a few hundred cheaper than what you can get locally?
*
For me.. i think i wont be willing to pay for these so called "grey" sets if it's a few hundred cheaper... unless there're personal warranty from shops... then i'll be willling.. here you are talking about a thousand bucks... if few hundred still ok ok...

What if you come back malaysia, and it spoils in less than a few month? what are you gonna do with it? Look at it everyday and hope it'll return to it's original condition? haha...

anyway.. it's just my opinion.. no offence. =)

but the 24-70 is expensive man owO" I would not have that kind of cash to get that lens.

btw, a recent shoot. Rather than venture more into fashion... this is more to conceptual.

Just a simple RAW conversion.

Eh...... Creative... but without those studio props such as backdrop and such.. really need a lot of touch up for the picture... Are you planing to do something to it?
