last week i saw an ad in ebay.com.my which selling n95 8gb with very cheap price. interested with the price, then i send him an e-mail to confirm i would like to buy the phone.. he rejects when i ask to do cod, because that was our first deal. he said, he only do cod with his previous buyer.. then i said ok.. i transfered the money rm 1k++ to him last week ago, jan 16.. then i asked him to sms me after he shipped the item.. and he gave me the tracking no.. and today, am thinking why poslaju takes it so long? one week already, but why my stuff isn't coming yet? then i called poslaju nilai by phone (because am staying at nilai) , just want to track my stuff, and poslaju said the tracking no is not on their list..

right now, am trying to call the seller by phone, but it doesnt active...

well it is risky to deal with m'sia ebay seller that didnt COD.
but I got try before with one ebay seller which has been banned by ebay on the day after I win the bid.
He has try to call me do COD at KLCC, & I accept the deal.
Finally the deal is successful, & he explained that he got banned because he got one bad comment from other seller & now he is try to reveal his account.

Thats my story, COD always safer (not 100% )

The way I see it, too many people are involved here...

I heard about Ebay system... It's not safe at all. Most of their buyer got CONNED by the seller but when reported...they only closed the thread or items posted by seller. They never offer help or at least share those information about the seller to allow the buyer to log in a police report.

With that, those CON-MAN will never dare to do it in Ebay and Ebay will keep their reputation. I never buy from ebay DOT com DOT my.... but EbayDOT com can still be consider, as long as they are register as genuine seller.

I agree with you bhorng...as long you dont BID, its not their problem...if you check carefully, the con case winning BIDS at EBAY Malaysia are ridiciously HIGH..ie RM100k for 1 Sony Notebook...

From my point of view, the first deal is suppose to deal with COD method, because to gain the customer's trust ain't easy. The "second deal method then can COD" is crap, but the gentle email tricks the buyer. Konon he deals with COD only with his previous buyer...HAH!!

For me, if the amount of transaction greater than RM500, COD only! If send by post, wait until I trusted the dealer, maybe after more than 3 successful deals through COD! Anyway, this thread refreshes my sense of security and awareness, about how not to easily give my trusts to other, especially involving money....

Well， the auction has being close by Ebay.
buyer just have to aware that the price is tooo good to be true is not true.

he's not new-man..this two have been doing this for long time..i got conned in last november for RM2000.00. Dont report to ebay bcoz they'll terminate u as a member instead of doing something to this stupid isa-jasmi..after got conned,i wrote about this fella at my blog and suprisingly i received loads of comments about him and emails from other victims and then i decided to create a special blog for all jasmi-isa victims jasmi-victims..there are 8 reports (as far as i know) about this jasmi when one of the commentor lodge his report(that was on december if i'm not mistaken) and the police officer said they'll freeze Jasmi's account by repoting him to bank negara but until now he still received at least 2-5k a day in his account everyday (i got this from trusted source)..so sad..

my advise is, dont buy thing that look too good at that particular price..example laptop market price sell around 3k and it sell 1k in ebay or wht better dun buy...do some research and comparison before buy.

Never ever buy from eBay Malaysia. Only from the international site. And even so, only from powersellers on the international site (those with upwards of 500 positive feedback at least, 99% positive, and at least a 12-month trading history on eBay). Anything less, and you are asking for trouble as the risks are higher.

Hope all victims manage to recover your funds eventually.

hehehe.. one of my friend also a victim.. i told him already, don't trust ebay malaysia.. but he keep on his way..

then after 2 weeks his items didn't arrive, he is now in big regretness..

fortunately his loss is 'only' rm 160..

call him...can always ask maxis/digi/celcom to trace his location...you must be with a high profile police something to do that i guess

I was also conned by this jerk at eBay.

I can tell you one thing first. The names and i/c nos. used by him are real but they are not his. He somehow could get hold of other people's.

His latest name is MUS. Same MO. Same CIMB bank account. Can tell you it's Sg. Besi branch. The phone nos. are all prepaid. I have been keeping track on eBay for this jerk and he appears time and again and each time I report to eBay about him but eBay just does not bother to take concrete action. He uses tag lines like GilaMurah, Crazy Sales and the like. This time he is selling iPhone probably because it is the hottest gadget now.

Supplied all relevant information about the pseudo name and other details to the police as well as eBay but alas they did not bother to do anything.

I just got conned by this guy rm1.7k. He used a fake ID Mazlan Bin Musa, A/C No: 1417-0084834-528, I/C No: 770413-04-513.

He was listing an iphone 3gs 32gb on ebay, for rm1700. he also "sells" 16gb at rm1500. Beware: he will say the item is a kastam confiscated item and cannot COD. He will convince you by saying how many units he got left, how other people verified his account valid, and he will speak convincingly. After cheque cleared, he never replies anymore.

Presumably he's done this for ages, he sounds f***ing convincing. I think he uses the ID of his victims to cheat the next person. He asked for name, address and IC number, stating that it is to insure the right person receives the package.

Please spread the news to your friends and not fall into the hands of this blithering idiot. I plan to write to the papers about this and lodge a police report tomorrow.

Death to this conman. I hope he gets sodomised by Hitler in hell.

Hihi. My cousin in Johor get cheated from this guy, Mus... in June this yr..b4.... he showed me the email replied by the fuller n exactly the same as discussed.
But, this time the fuller is Mustaffa bin Talib. I noticed that this "advertisement" still valid in eBay... Haiz... Duno how many ppl would get cheated more... "great job, conman" Well, anyway, any1 has the same case as my cousin? He asked me what to do as I study law, but reli have no idea at all... cos, the amount cheated is too little, lawyer wun bother it as the amount could claim not even reach the legal expenses....

By the way, every ppl hu get cheated can sue under malaysian civil laws, jenayah berkenaan dengan multimedia and perdagangan electrik. If u get suceed then would get higher than the face amount that u paid. U can sue for the damages.

I think it would be safer if buyer uses Paypal as their method of payment, or meet up with the seller personally.
Never bank in money into a stangers account, as you never know who you are actually dealing with.
