spend money on DAC + spending money for empires mod + the OPA627 =

okie..so i got bored and decided to install the OPA2107 opamps into my ZERO...

the highs are much tamer now...although even with stock it was real good already...but soundstage is VERY much improved. first time im hearing things where theyre really coming from... i.e left n behind and not just left only...that kinda thing...

also the intro to nothing else matters...im hearing where the guitar is echoing in the room. never heard that before...

there is 1 drawback though... mid range. the DT990 already has a recessed midrange...pair that with the airy sound signature of the 2107 the it makes the recessed midrange apparent.

lazy wanna take out and remove for now so ill just leave it be...i like the way it sounds oso anyway

then most likely there wont be much difference ler...coz the ZERO and Zhaolu are very similar. supposedly the ZERO designer used to work for Zhaolu oso

so ur bulking the adapter only?

me wan a full complete unit (adapter + opamp)...meaning i get the stuff straight can plug in to the dadc already.

how much would that cost?

truthfully...i cant tell the difference.... but mebbe if i compare it side by side with stock i might be able to la... the change might be subtle.

as it is my belief... (especially in audio) people usually wont notice upgrades....but will definitely notice downgrades

same here...opamp received and its already in my ZERO in the DAC section...

now waiting for next round opamp so i can transfer it to the headamp section...

most likely my final config would be...

1* opa2107 - DAC
2* op627 (full units) - headamp
